Having watched the first three gaames I am of the opinion that we will be mid table ish until January when Moutinho and Llorente will sign. This will then give us the impetus to kick on and achieve a top four finish. In the transfer window following the end of this season we will then attract and turn down a whole host of top names being thrown at us by greedy agents.
AVB has my backing........for now!

COYS

The Tribe.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Llorente will be free in January. Why would he join us.
Barca and Madrid have already said they want him, as well as europes other top clubs.
Why do you think he is happy in the reserves till January.
Answer.....move to a giant.....massive pay day.

Agree4 Disagree0

Sorry to burst your bubble mate, but come january Llroente' contract will be in its final 6 months and he will sign a pre contract with Juventus, thats why they signed Bendtner on loan. If we are lucky we may still sign Moutinho but I think that even this is unlikely now.

I think moutinho depends on if AVB is still our manager.

Joe Lewis tottenham owner is said to be very unhappy(like most of us may i add) with the start under AVB!..and already earmarked Rafael Benitez as his replacement if things do not improve(hope this is not the true!!)..give it to steffen freund..he is the man that has been a revelation with the under 21 german squad..who are one hell of a team!!

Believable3 Unbelievable11

Would that be the same Steffen Freund who's part of the current management team that you are unhappy with - yeah, that makes sense. Lets get rid of AVB after THREE GAMES and replace him with someone who has only managed the German U-21's and is part of, in your opinion, a failing management team. Stuart Pearce must also be high on your list too then?
You think you're a fan - disgraceful!!

Agree3 Disagree2

Give avb a chance ffs everyone deserves that. Last season we lost to Norwich under Arry. Finished poor after good start. I would rather start slow and finish well which is something we couldnt do under Arry even though I respect the fact we finished 4th it should have been and easy 3rd but Arry took eye off the game was dreaming of england and that cost us big time.

Lol at spurs calling Arsenal a feeder club and The mighty Liverpool a small clubwhen you have sold
Berbatov to Man Utd
Carrick to Man Utd
Sheringham to Man Utd
Modric to Real
Rafael van der Vaart to Hamburg
Keane to Liverpool
and I cant be bothered to name others Bale to leave next year, Andre Villas Boas to get sacked by christmas, Spurs bottom three by December and Liverpool top come May.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Optimistic for someone who follows a team with the worst start in fifty years! Jog on back to ur own site

Agree4 Disagree2

Not even worth wasting our time criticising that comment. Above poster obviously knows nothing about football especially if he thinks for 1 minute Loserpool will reach top of the league.

Be lucky to be top of relegation zone

Agree5 Disagree1

Loserpool.......andy Carroll.....£35million
2 seasons later......loan to wet pam.
And you got the cheek to have. Pop at us.
Jog on boy, your giro needs cashing.

Agree3 Disagree1

Did he really say Liverpool top by may??

God, all those shell suits must be really giving off alot of fumes.

Agree4 Disagree1

Liverpool top by may!!!

They got more chance of signing Siggs and Dempsey.
Oops, they already chose a better team!!

Agree2 Disagree2

I suppose relegation to the Championship could be considered top of that league, so I can understand his point, but nothing to be proud of. As they say, You'll never walk alone.......unless you're named Andy Carroll

Agree1 Disagree1

I support Arsenal and there's no way Spurs will be in bottom 3 by December, maybe January (only joking) there be in top 6 (where I don't know) but Liverpool won't be in top 6 anytime this season. You've only got 19 players as admitted by your manager and they include kids.

P.S - Your never sniff glue alone

I'd rather walk alone than have to spend time with the scousers!

Why is it Levy who is a tight wad hires a manager who will be sacked and has to pay up their contract.

AVB will be out by December - terrible strategist and man manager who is also ignorant.

Mind the gap

Believable5 Unbelievable5

A gooner calling OUR manager ignorant!!
You are having a chuckle surely.
Your manager Is the most ignorant, self absorbed man in the premier league. He is rude, blinkered and so one sided it's unreal.
He is the only manager in the prem that would never say the other team deserved to win or was unlucky.
Actually, managing scum.
Perfect match.

Agree3 Disagree6

He's been doing this since he has been there:
Santini
Jol
Harry
All been sacked with a big hand shake
Have I missed any out
Mr g

Agree1 Disagree2

Well theres been a few. Since 2001 when Enic took over we have had 8 different managers.

2001 David Pleat.
2001 Glen Hoddle
2003 David Pleat again.
2004 Jacque Santini
2004 Martin Jol
2007 Clive Allen
2007 Juande Ramos
2008 Harry Redknapp
2012 Andre Villas-Boas

Just goes to show its pretty much Levy playing football manager.

Agree2 Disagree2

When enic took over we were nothing better than a mid table team who would enjoy the occasional cup run. Now, we've experienced the champions league, expect to compete and finish in champs league places every season and even (in the case of some fans) think we should be competing for the title - something we've only ever won twice! Long before most of us were born.
Enic/Levy have raised expectations at the club and unfortunately are victims of their success - a lot of posters on this site need a reality check in what to expect from Spurs. Pathetic and fickle are the words that come to mind. I've supported spurs since the 70's and the last 3 seasons have been the most consistent & exciting I can remember. COYS

Do you think that now all the transfers have been done we are now likely to revert to AVB's 4-3-3 or will he stick with 4-2-3-1? IMO if we play 4-3-3 our team for Reading should be: Friedel-Walker-Dawson-Vertonghen-BAE-Sandro-Dembele-Siggurdsson-Bale-Ade-Dempsey (with Bale and Dempsey as inside out wingers).
If we play 4-2-3-1 I'd like AVB to make a brave decision and play Friedel-Walker-Dawson-Vertonghen-Bale-Sandro-Dembele-Lennon-Siggurdsson-Dempsey-Adebayor. Playing Bale at Left Back is the only way to get him doing what he does best: raiding up and down the left flank. With Dempsey coming inside and getting beyond Ade to get chances in the box, Bale would have so much space to attack.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

If he goes to 4-3-3 which I think will suit us better, he would need to drop the back line back by about 10 yards, because the high line doesn't work. My starting line up would be

Friedel,
Walker, Vertonghen, Caulker, BAE
Dembele, Sandro, Dempsey
Lennon, Ade, Bale

If he sticks with the current formation of 4-2-3-1, which I think he will because the guy has no idea it isn't working, I would like to see starting line up as

Friedel,
Walker, Vertonghen, Caulker, BAE
Sandro, Dembele,
Lennon, Dempsey, Bale,
Ade

Subs for both line ups -
Llrois, Naughton, Siggs, Defoe, Livermore, Dawson, Townsend

THFC4EVER

Agree1 Disagree1

It wouldn't surprise me if he picked Livermore for all those line ups.

Agree1 Disagree0

The 4231 could very well work away at reading, if we play dembele in the double pivot. Yes it wasn't necessary against west brom and norwich at home but his hand was forced somewhat in terms of who he had available. A 433 might have meant Jenas in the starting lineup we had so few midfielders. Against reading we'll have so many players back and ready I reckon we'll win and win big

Agree2 Disagree2

I think 4231 is ok as long as you don't have 2 defensive midfielders. In pretty much every formation we have played for the last 12 months we have struggled when playing 2 defensive midfielders (look how Lennon's injury last spring started us playing Sandro and Parker together centrally more often).

Dembele as one of the 2 with more freedom to come from deep to get in advanced positions I think will work better than having a Sandro/Livermore combination. This actually makes it more like a 4141 but with Dembele coming from deep which gives us better verticality.

That said we looked much better last week when we played 2 up front. The exact formation was hard to judge (was it a 4222 or a 4132?) as I was unsure if Dembele getting forward was intended by the manager or not, but I'm glad he did. Ade and Defoe are a good combo as the oppo def cannot just crowd Ade out like they can Defoe.

As for our back line - I think we've been missing Dawson late in games. I know AVB wants to play a high line and Daws is not the quickest, but we've generally conceeded our goals when we've sat back and even our defensive mids have dropped. In these cases we need a proper pen box defender.

What it tells me is what is plian to see. We have problems but Booing the team and coach are c ounterproductive AVB and the players have to work it out they are intelligent highly paid professional people and it is their job but Booing and piling pressure on players and the coach help no one but our rivals who will just ridiclule us. We cannot afford to do a Chelsea and ditch the coach but we can get behind our team.

The coach that should be our Manager and who should have been selected by our Chairman and the board was sitting in the oppostion dug out on Saturday. A man who by his own admission is Spurs through and through but we did nt offer him the job so Lets stop analysing it all and start cheering !

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I agree that booing is far from ideal and it really shouldnt happen BUT what would you expect the supporters to do? I dont think polite applause would be any better TBH and silence even worse.
Thing is, in three months we have gone from being exiting, brilliant, fast attacking football and THE team that every other coach in the Premiership would actually pay to watch to something that doesnt resemble that anymore. Disjointed, disorganised, questionable tactics, even more questionable team selection this club has started moving in the opposite direction to the direction we were heading in last season. What possible excuse is there? We have lost ONE hugely influential player that needed to be replaced, our squad, when AVB took over was the same under Redknapp and didnt need to be overhauled to any great degree. As it is, he has decided to change tactics, formation and ship out players and bring new ones in in one fell swoop. Basically, it appears, we will be going backwards until everything clicks into place and we go forwards. Will we be better than last season tho? Who knows.
Booing? No ambiguity is there, The missus and i didnt boo but we could have, saturday cost us nearly £200 in tickets, merchandise and travel, all to watch that pile of sh*te.
If I had watched a crap play or film id be entitled to be critical, why not when i watch terrible football?
Super Y*d

Agree3 Disagree1

Completely agree with Super Y*d, we all pay vast amount of money to watch our team and it is down to the individual to choose if they boo or not. Its not as if we can vent our feelings any other way, we don't get to talk with Levy, AVB or the players after each game/training session. So booing is the way to get the feeling across. However it is extremely counterproductive and if players feel they are giving their all then will feel it is not deserved either, it is a difficult call.

I chose not to boo as I find it a little to faced, booing one minute cheering the next and everyone who does boo will still pay their money and return the next week. However if I did boo I would not accept being criticised by fellow fans or told I am not a proper fan for doing so, in the 30+ years I have supported and followed Spurs, I have spent 10's of thousands and feel that this entitles me to vent my feeling anyway I feel right.

STOP THE BOO BOYS !!!

To all or any of you who booed the team on Saturday, do us real fans a favour and get LOST. You seem to be under the impression that your support Spurs. WAKE UP CALL you do not, you are a waste of space taht is causing and adding a problem that we do not need at the Lane. I am sick of reading the total utter nonsense you post on here day after day about AVB and the window and Levy. So things are not going our way right now, do you really think that booing and jeering is going to help ? How would you feel if it were you.

We have invested millions of pounds in a new coach and new players, what possible good do you think will come of forcing out that man and undermining the players confidence ? Well I am waiting. Where do you think we will magic another Manager from.....Oh just get Arry back ? Do me a favour. So either shut up or jog on because you are not a supporter of THFC

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Could not agree more.

Agree2 Disagree5

You will never stop the boo boys, especially when we have played quite good football under Harry.

Most of us posting on here are not the boo boys but are very unhappy at the style of play, especially at home against Norwich and West Brom.

Our back four must have had the most touches of the ball than ever before!

We didn't need major overhaul of the playing staff or style just minor changes and various different formation/coaching methods - NOT DEFENSIVE PLAY for the first two home games where our goalkeeper is man of the match twice,
what doe's that tell you?

AVB couldn't have really asked for an easier start and he's still played defensive and not let the team express themselves - which is something Spurs fans pay to watch and enjoy - Lets hope AVB wakes up and changes his style and quick because the Boo Boys will continue otherwise.

Agree1 Disagree3

Proper fan COYS

Jimbo

Agree1 Disagree2

I feel for AVB a bit, i think the majority of fans were shocked and disappointed by the sacking of Harry. So from the off AVB needed to make a good start or those angry, or doubting Levy's decision were always going to jump on his back.

Nearly every new manager needs time, every new team needs time and we have both.

I think anyone who pays to see us play has the right to voice their opinion. But whilst the boys are on the pitch they need the full support, its well documented the effect the crowd can have.

Things arent great at the minute but im sure better things are to come ... especially if everyone sticks together!

COYS!!

Agree3 Disagree2

Being at the game for the last two Saturdays the thing that really infuriated me was our play to Defoe. I dont need to be told by a manager that Defoe is small i can see that, so what goes through there head to pump a 60yard pass aiming for him. Chances are he is not going to win it. I am fully behind AVB and our team needs time. COYS

Agree2 Disagree2

Jog on original poster!! Us fans that pay good money 2 support the team have every right to boo. Although I feel it should b left till the end of the game. This is the way fans can voice there dissatisfaction! Levy is to blame for this shambles.

Agree3 Disagree0

To the original poster, I feel it is you that needs to 'Jog on', real fans who stump up hard earned money week on week, season on season earn the right to have their say in their way.

Agree2 Disagree1

It's not a bloody shambles, it's a slow start that clubs have seen and recovered from a million times before. Yes we've played defensive, and yes it's been absolutely dire, but has it ever occured to you that maybe we had to play that way due to the injuries we had? Maybe that the squad is just finding it's feet in the league and the new style? Also, we played 442 at home to norwich last year, a great, attacking formation with 2 strikers, and guess what? We lost 2-1!
