Just a thought, Adam Le Fondre has 10 goals in the premier league, same as Defoe and our winger Bale. He dosent start many games where as Defoe starts almost all. Negredo and Saldado have 8 and 11 respectably in Spain. Who is the best bet? Is Le Fondre a better striker than Hooper? I know they aren't the big name strikers we crave but after tonite we MUST get somebody in who knows where the net is. Staino

Remember iv told you this. This will happen. Forget damiao moutinho willian not happening but could in the future. But I kid you not by 11 tomorrow night diame and hooper will be tottenham players and that's our lot. Gallas will go to Harry and hudds to fulham. Also levy is desperately trying to off load bentley and jenas on a combined wage of 92k a week. My source is a very respected agent with initials K.M that's all I will give. Believe it or not but he is connected in all these deals. I will answer comments to this as I had a long chat with him as I was a guest in his box at a game tonight.

A poor result tonight against Norwich. We have drawn two and lost one against them this season. Not good enough if we hope to get CL spot. We have dropped a lot of points against very moderate opposition ie. Wigan, Stoke, Norwich and West Brom. Not much point playing man united off the pitch if we are going to drop points to Norwich the next time out. I worry about our state of mind and motivation. Dembele admitted it was missing against Leeds and we were played off the pitch in the first half tonight. We only started playing after 60 minutes. If players carried on like that for Ferguson, they would get shot. I agree that a top class striker would solve a lot of our problems but that is not the only area requiring to be addressed. I sincerely hope we are not going to start losing and drawing games which we should win like we did last year.

We are soo close to a great team yet Levy won't or hasn't splashed out that extra 30, 40m on 2 quality players being a striker and attacking midfielder. That money would get recouperated surely, it aidmt even really a gamble. What is wrong with Levy. Willian is a must.

Levy are you watching ? That is not good enough take nothing away from norwich, defoe has 2 goals in about 12games we will not get top 4 unless you buy I am beginning to think you don't want top four so you don't have to pay top wages and you can then sell our best players to keep enic happy! Our club is so near to regular top 4 why are taking chances by not supporting avb?
I have posted here on numerous occasions that BAE is rubbish as a defender. He proved it again tonight. He has to go.

He was always a bad defender. He loses concentration, is prone to giving away penalties and makes some " boot it anywhere" clearances( remember last year, his short clearance straight to RVP who scored the Gooners equaliser. He is the weakest link in our defence and we all know what must happen to the weakest link!!

I've decided to cross over to the dark side - I've been persuaded. Levy needs to get some balls. How he can tolerate the risk of having no strikers on the bench and a possible repeat of last season, but not tolerate the risk of a 10-15mil striker bewilders me. It doesn't even need to be a world class striker, just some one who offers a different kind of threat and makes us less predictable.
You win some you lose some but without taking the gamble we'll never establish ourselves as title contenders, now or any time in the future. There is risk either side of the argument but we could at least show some proper intent like every other team in the league.

Have to say Defoe was poor both halfs.we need to win now on Sunday or the tracks will start to creak.A slight bit better in the second half but still a poor display by the boys.Holty looked as good as the ref looked bad .Some great touches.I fear DL not wanting to spend may cost us fourth again.
He is at best an impact sub but its like playing with 10 men when he's on, I can't think of one thing he has done in the last 5 games out jumped refuses to run to the back post or front, outpowered constantly and always 3 yards of the shoulder so never able to get in behind very frustrating
we do need a striker, all the same holtby was class when he came on even his little touches were great. think siggrdsson can be class given a chance and dempsey does a job

JD should be an impact sub Dempsey and Siggs are squad players shouldn't be thought of as starting xi week in week out for me. Haven't seen enough from either of them to command a starting role in a Top 4 team.

Dempsey is completely crap, JD isn't a patch on his early season form, bae is total pants, Parker is completely headless, the list is endless ! You can't blame Lennon and Bale, they provide us with 20 chances a game and we don't have a player to put them away !

Eds, do you think Holtby will be a regular first team player, if so what position/role will he play? {Ed008's Note - Yes he will be a first team player I expect him to play the AM role behind Defoe he can play across the midfield aswell.
Eds do you know if he can play this evening {Ed008's Note - I think so providing he's been registered in time he's not in the starting 11 can't see if he's on the bench.
I'd say we would play a 4, 1, 3, 2, I think that would work out best, with holtby in the middle of bale and lennon, dembele right behind the striker like he was at fulham, and scotty in the cdm position.

I'd just like to say to everyone out there IF Damiao does end up a spurs player I will not be tippling my hat in the direction of the Oracle in way of an apology, he is know more ITK than me. for around 4/5 transfer windows now he has promised us the Damiao deal is done and his arrival is imminent, yet it has never been that way. All he has done is maintain to hope that we would sign someone on our scouting list, odds are we were going to get him eventually.
if you shoot enough bullets, eventually you will hit the perfect shot.
in other news, ill be VERY greatful to see that man walk out the tunnel at the lane wearing the famous white shirt, so lets hope it happens!

Callejon loan could be likely and he's got a good pedigree coming from Real but still something to prove. No telling how he'd adapt though, not used to playing week in week out.
Negredo seems the obvious target; there's a 'Levy deal' to be done for less than £14m (he's probably thinking more like a ridiculous £9m though which will blow us out) given Sevilla's plight, he's the right physical profile, he has a good goal scoring record generally, he has played at the top level, he would also have a little bit to prove (and we would give him a good chance to out-shine Snr Torres perhaps!?).
Damaio is the more difficult, more expensive and perhaps the biggest risk of all so I'm really not sure we'll see it happen.
All things considered, who wants who out of those three?

For all those dreaming about what our new striker is going to look like STOP!
We are being led to believe that we are in talks with Damiao (don't make me laugh), we are led to believe that we are looking at Negredo as a back up (believable, but still doubtful).
Levy is not looking to do the business that we all know we need. We have been in similar positions before and Levy has not pulled off the transfers that are possible he pulls off the easy ones (Holtby being a prime example)!
We all heard about Lewis Holtby, but from reliable sources, but there has been nothing with quotes or remote reliable sources from anyone on Damiao or Negredo, so it sums it up. Someone is always willing to leak the info to help with pushing something up and creating competition (it is a business after all).
We now have 1 day and 12 hours to shape the rest of our season and Levy seems to be sat on his hands as he does every January. It is simple that to spend £15-£25million will get you that in Champions League money, but what's just as important is that it buys us more time with our stars and allows us to attract the big names. Become the big team that Lewis wants to create to sell on.
When we got into the Champions League someone tell me at what point Levy went out to strengthen the squad to compete (where were the big name signings)? We had a great run, but we would not replicate it again with the same squad, it was a one off. As always Levy has not learnt from his mistakes! The first lesson you learn in any job or life in general is to learn from your mistakes. So why hasn't Levy?

Right, it came to me in a flash. The Damiao transfer saga is like this I believe.
First Year of chasing him
Inter did not have a replacement and did not really need to sell and they had only just sold Sandro so didn't need the cash. Inter were playing hard ball.
Second year of chasing.
Summer 2012
Inter didn't particularly need to sell but their model is to bring on the youth or buy young and sell at a high price. Oscar is the player would had the highest price this window and was sold and herefore Damiao was not reuqired to be sold. Also it is the Brazil mid season and pricest would be at their highest (hence why Chelsea bought him for that price).
This transfer window
It is the Brazil close season and the most likely time that Inter will sell. The have purchased replacement forwards already in the summer (I think Ed will be able to confirm) so selling Damiao now is ripe as his price is high (due to a good couple of seasons and the Olympics) and they already have replacements.
This is from Memory so could be wrong but I think we will get Damiao due to the circumstances.

PPS I am spurs through and through, was a mascot when I was 10 away against Everton.
Being a mascot at ten doesn't make you right, however, I agree now is the time for them to sell as he isn't turning into the superstar they thought (not even in national squad) and every day that goes by he gets cheaper and cheaper. I am noy saying to us but I think he WILL be sold.
