Spurs/Levy like a pound note but there are some strong principals in there. When you think Bentley has been a write-off at £16.5m yet Modric cost the same, has generally performed well and is highly sought after, I would think they can afford to stick to their guns. If he 'rots' to a certain extent he just de-values himself and his appeal as well. Yes players hold a lot of aces but, he isn't Rooney or Tevez. There's a lot to be taken on trust and gamble a bit with him like if he's your main attacking man in midfield then don't rely on many goals etc.
We'll see.

This time ten days ago i was down about Tottenham's chances this season. But since showing some serious ambition in Bale having a contract till 2016 this has recindled my hope. I have seen on www. which is a farely reliable website that AVB will be handed 70million to buy the players he wants. On there were, Ade, Vertonghen, Lloris, Damiao, Sigurdson. I think all these players are ones that could fit into our side and i believe we could challenge higher than the top four if we bring in them. Not saying were going to win the lesgue ofcourse im not, but i believe a third spot finish could be possible. Lloris, Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Ekotto. This is a relatively young back 4 (not including Lloris) this has huge potential to forge a lethal back line next year. Can i also just say that Kaboul for me last season was phenomenal! i have a season ticket and he was so solid last year, im a big admirer! I do however think Luka will leave us this year and good luck to him, the man deserves to be playing champions league football and i have huge amounts of respect for him for not stropping about and taking our season last year 100 percent seriously. Yes we will miss him but if the rumour that we have got so much money to spend is true then i am not as worried as i was before. I have always had a go about the way Levy has managed the club but is it how he planned it? to bring in Harry for a few years and replace him with a young manager and give him the money to build a squad. Levy may be pulling off a master stroke here! watch this spaceeeee
Totally agree with kaboul comment he became our rock at the back and lets hope he can keep to that standard and improve
Kaboul was are only decent cb last year hopefully with dawson fit caulker back and the signing of vertongen we should be massively improved in that area.

We all know that Vertonghen and AVB are coming (I make that a couple) but he just copied that from the red tops. Nothing from him that I couldn't read in lots of other places.

Hope the post regarding Sigurdsson is true. The transfer fee of £8m could be put towards a deal to bring Moutinho to the club, (who is twice the player he is) reported wages of £70,000 a week for Sigurdsson is a joke, he had decent half season at Swansea but does not justify us paying him that. We could even give Modric extra £70,000 a week. Im sure that would soften the blow of no champions league.

The above 5 would make me very very happy...although id bring in another striker. Looks like if we stick to one up front, only Adebayor and Defoe will be ok as we will always have Rafa and even bale playing behind.

Are the rumours true about a take over with us? it would sence really to bale reported new deal is 115 000 a week and sidgursson reported offered 70 000,levy defo wudnt hand out these wages unless he knew there was a massive windfall of money on the way so he must of broke the clubs wage structure for some reason? what u think ed?
