half time and we can't score against the mighty brighton our club are rubbish. now I know avb,and sherwood wernt bad managers its the players we have. also get rid of baldini with someone who has the club at heart like terry venables or teddy sheringham. fed up big time

Believable1 Unbelievable1

AVB'S obsession with Europa cost us in the end and Sherwood was an out of his depth odd ball. We are rubbish, simple. This season is a write off and next season probaly will be with the disarray we are in. Everyone should be made available for transfer other than Hugo, Lamela, Erikson and Jan. Take £25 mil from Southampton for Kane and Townsend and cash in on Paulinho whilst he still holds some value. We are never going to have CL again all the time Enic are around and 11ish in the PL Is about our par under there ownership.

Except Hugo and Jan will likely be among the first to leave unfortunately.

Clearly, we are going through a bad patch at the moment. We are playing poorly and are being punished for all our mistakes, so it feels like the end of the world, but Chris Saunders is right: we should get behind the team at matches and confine our criticisms to this site.

I have argued consistently over the years that spending money is not automatically the answer to our problems and last year's spending spree worried the hell out of me. However, we spent a shed load of money on three record signings and we need to find out about them before spending even more.

Lamela shows flashes of class, but he also loses the ball too easily, too often and in dangerous areas. However, he is still young and last season was a complete write-off for him. Effectively, he is a new signing this season and needs time to find his feet. After his first 7 or 8 games last year I had exactly the same criticisms of Erikson. Similarly, when I first saw David Silva at White Hart Lane, he didn't get a kick all game and looked completely out of his depth in the Premiership. Premature judgements in those cases could have cost Spurs and City dear.

Soldado and Paulinho are more worrying because they have both had plenty of game time.

Paulinho looks to be a decent quality player and has done OK for us, but I agree that his decision-making is often too slow and he can be a drag on our attacks. Then again, he may be mentally and physically exhausted after playing almost continuously for over two years.

Recently, Soldado has shown a few signs of what he might be capable of, but I am worried it is 'too little, too late'. Abebayor isn't playing as well as he did under Sherwood, but he is still Pochettino's first choice to lead the line, so Soldado can't be showing too much in training.

Nonetheless, we invested nearly £70m in these 3 players, so we can't afford to dump them without giving them a fair chance to prove themselves.

Of course, if they really are all duds then we have a major problem.

When we signed those players from the Bale money almost every spurs fan was very very pleased. Fans from other clubs also saw these signings as a threat.

Some of them haven't worked out yet but all the moaners come out and talk utter crap, Levy out blah blah blah.

Its a transitional season. Yes Southampton are doing good but it is what it is. Poch hasn't got the players yet to play his system, he will get money in January and buy.

Actually we have a very talented squad, its lookslike they are lost in the tactics used and aren't trying hard enough and that's a problem.

Sometime Spurski I agree with you and sometimes I think you are blinkered . If you class Lennon, Townsend, Paulinho, Naughton, Bentaleb, Ade, Kaboul, Chiriches etc as a talented squad then I think there is a lot of fans that might disagree . There are a lot of fans who think Levy should go, I think that he should get rid of BALDINI, back the manager and stop messing the manager about . Perhaps then we might get the players Mopo wants, not 2nd class alternatives . Levy has to make up his mind, less control from him, more investment, good table positions, better selling price which is what he wants OR don't invest, keep interfering and finish around 10th each year . Everybody keeps on about a transitional season, fair enough but I certainly don't want to watch us in the championship next year . With the wrong results next week, we could be about 16th, would you be happy with that?
Whilst we are having a good discussion, does Mopo have to change 10 players every bloody game! Surely by now he knows his nucleus of the team?

The width can be resolved playing the right players on the right sides!

Pace, I agree to an extent, Gazza wasnt the fastest player in the world.

Leaders, totally agree, we have lacked leaders for as long as I can remember!

Once Erikson is not on the pitch, we have NOBODY who can deliver a quality dead ball!

totally agree with the surplus of midfielders that are not good enough, but so are the majority of our central defenders and strikers.

I do think we need some stability in our manager, we need to get behind him!

Edd008's note earlier asking where the problem is: Levy? Baldini? Pochettino? - For me its the first two. again, how many managers and player has our team been through over the past 12 years! time for stability in a manager.

Custard pie Baldini, and although Levy has installed financial stability in the club, BACK YOUR MANAGER!

When you back a manager and purchase a player for your manager that you deem may be over priced, you purchase what your manager requires to fit into a system you employed him to do, albeit maybe loosing a little money!

When you purchase a player in replace of that initial intended player and thus saving money initially, not only do you loose what the deemed overprice player was in the managers system, but you also increase the risk of:

1, that replaced player working and developing into the managers system
2, failing the system - intended to create success
3, oh and money wasted - Bale £100m

Its starting to scare me when as fans we are calling for Kane to start. just shows how bad our other strikers really are.

So sick of our beloved team going through this process each year!

Keep expecting THIS to be our year, only to fall from grace yet again!

Northeast, wOr rise me about Kane as well, mainly because I hope he gets picked! Shows just how bad we have become!!

Bet you were pleased though when we brought them!

Davo, so you still think Kane is bad then? The problem is Pochettino isn't starting him enough in the prem. A run in the prem is all he needs. When he converts his training performances to match time you will be shocked, he hasn't done bad when he has played recently has he and at least he puts a shift in.

Fiddlesticks spurski

Agree he is a trier but if he is the standard we have to be happy with, then yes, top ten at most is what we should expect!

Agree1 Disagree1

Kane is more affective than Ade, less skilled than Soldado, but if we don't play our confident goal scorer who does score for us. I'd like to see Soldado and Kane given a run together I think its a pairing that would worry PL defenses.

How we accommodate that is the challenge I would likely drop Chadli and keep Lamela and Eriksen and see if the football smarts can be developed into something despite my doubts that Lamela will make it in the PL.

Agree0 Disagree0

You all mocked me when I said you needed a striker
some even wanted to bet.he looks silly now doesn't he.
you have some real class players, but ade got his contract and don't like the wet, salado is shot to pieces no confidence,
Kane well he score in the miner games but do you thinks against some top defenders he will, I feel you a bit like liverpool, spread the money to thinly.
Maybe 3 top class players insted of 7 good/average
plus levy looks at the sell on value

Agree0 Disagree1

As much as it pains me, I have to agree with you in the main Gooner. But I'd still like to see Soldado and Kane paired up upfront and see what they can do playing together for a run of games. Kane's confidence is high, now is the time to throw him in the deep end and find out if he can score in PL consistently or not.
