There is all of us thinking wow what a lovely chairman we have in levy
25 m spent so far + maybe a
25m on saldardo a striker we have been begging for for years

The question is is all this bales money pre spent

Dnt sell us short again levy

Mr g

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed Mr g. Feels like we're being built right up to be knocked down before the window shuts. Hopefully it's all paper talk and he's going nowhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont let the trolls get to you. We barely used the money from Modric, regular transfer kitty, plus the big tv deal this year we should have 30-50 to spend comfortably, especially if we factor in europa group stage games. Look at all the mid table clubs and what they are willing to spend. That would give you an idea about the approximate tv deal boost to all.

RY

Agree0 Disagree0

Y r people having a pop at levy over bale, in my opinion he's doing all he can to deep him, but the four clubs above us all have rich sugar daddies, we moan abt season ticket prices going up, then moan abt levy, how much is he offering bale to sign a new contract.

Why aren't we trying harder to sing Jackson Martinez his goal scoring recorded last sesson was amazing and I was just watching him on YouTube and he looks quality I no you can make anyone look good on there but still some of the goals he scores were amazing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I can think of 32million reasons. {Ed008's Note - Name those reasons then..

Agree0 Disagree0

The rumored offer from Napoli for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Napoli have increased their offer for Porto striker Jackson Martinez to €32m. The Portuguese champions are holding out for €40m according to Sky Sport Italia and are under no pressure to sell.

Odds on now for bale to leave, a good indication that this is going to happen. As sad as I am it looks like he's going, I think we all knew it was going to happen by next season anyway. It could be for the best we rebuild now. We need 2 big signings along with Soldado and I think we can finish top 4 and be stronger without him. What an absolute fantastic player, still hope he stays but if he does go I think all us spurs fan will agree he has been superb! Feeling sad but optimistic we will re invest with quality! Coys!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For the amount Rm are yalking about. just sell him. its mad mad money. we get teo maybe three quality plsyets in. already got got teo worldies in. wait for the next twi. they will be quality. if he and his family wsnts to go. let him go. and we move on and get better

Last season I missed watching our midfield of the previous season with the link up play of vdv modric and bale, and even though I love watching dembele I will truely miss just seeing bale in the prem, love watching him play, real exictitment

Not the same watching people play in the liga bbva.

A few drinks before writing that yidade? Lmao

Imo. I think we ll buy our targets at the non inflated prices and then sell bale. because if we sold bale now. prices for player would go double
yidade

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who would want to join you if Bale was sold? Anyone any good would want a go at CL and you will not get that without Bale.
You will just become next seasons QPR!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sad response there. Jealousy gets you nowhere!

It isn't looking good. Its looking more and more like Levy going to accept a major bid for Gareth Bale. If money is re-invested then maybe its a good thing. Me personally I rather he stayed and we secured champions league

I can't help feeling all this speculation about Bale out and a striker in is obscuring the fact that we desperately need to bring in a creative MF. Don't get me wrong Paulinho a great signing and Chadli may well step up but we have no-one to make things really happen in the middle of the park. Paulinho/Sandro are quality but not the players to unlock teams who come to WHL looking for a 0-0 draw or to snatch a 0-1 on the break and that was a big weakness for us last season. Spur67 {Ed008's Note - The signing of Paulinho will give Dembele more freedom in the middle to create chances..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, we need someone who can dictate the pace of the game even if it was just off the bench or in rotationfor example when were 1nil up & keep giving ball away & invite pressure on ourselves or when our play is to slow & ponderous which it has been both at times last season.
Chadli will improve things along with paulinho & have a feeling siggy could have a big year if he stays, All the same I do think we could do with midfielder who offers something different than what we have at moment.
Espur

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with original post, we do need a creative midfielder. Dembele is a cracking player but we need to find a new Modric. Said last year we should try and get Gundogan but after the season he has just had with Dortmund his value will have rocketed

Agree0 Disagree0

Eriksen is the one but doubt we can get him.
Bernard would be nice but plays wider and I think Sigurdsson may surprise a few this year from that position anyway along with the Chadli, Lennon and hopefully Bale options (plus develop Townsend through Europa group games and League Cup up to January and assess from there).

Article about Bale's frustration and that he is prepared to not play in pre-season and also never play again for spurs unless he gets his Madrid transfer.

Don't know how true that is but it seems he definitely wants to leave. Players don't get left at home from pre-season tours and go all silent for no reason.

Seems like its best to play hard ball and get as much over £85m for him as possible and move on and reinvest the money in the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bale is with the team in hongkong. der

To everyone saying that if Real Madrid offered £85m+ for Bale we should accept it as we could bring in 3-4 quality players, think about it guys, we go to a team now and say to them how much for so-an-so, oh we don't want to sell but 15m might convince us, but after we get £85m for Bale we go to the same team for the same player the price will now be £30m. As soon a team knows we have that money from Bales sale potential targets prices double over night, so £85m as good as it is would be, we would be lucky if 75% of it was reinvested in the team and it would realistically only buy two quality player, when you take that into account the only worth while deal IMO would be £50m plus a couple of players from Di Maria, Contreao, Modric or Maybe Pepe and then swap him for Dzeko at ManC (I know that's dreaming).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Supposedly the offer is 50m plus Coentrao and Di Maria. left side fixed if we accept that.

£85 mill I would bite there hands off, £80 mill plus coencetrao (spelling) even better! Would be more worried about AVB leaving if bale goes. There are plenty of players we coul get with £80 mill but how many managers with as much promise as AVB out there and available??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So do you believe Levy would pump all that money back in to transfers.

NO chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree. Personally i'd say 75 mill and contreao. he's a quaillty lb but he's definitely worth more than 5 mill they payed nearly 25 mill euros for him I think so 75 mill is both a win for us and for madrid who get a high earner off there books and there main target. Then its how you spend that money all of us are mad if we think that will all go back into buying players. I reakon if you take say 60 mill out of that to then further spend i'd go for eric lamela I've watched this lad quite a lot he's young pacey with bags of potenial plus it was baldini who bought him to roma but mayb 20 - 25 mill could b enough for in my opinion one of the best young wingers / playermakers out there. You then spend the 25 mill on soldado and if the rumours are true that eriksen is availible for 15 - 20 we should bite there arm off for that aswell as he is very versitle in many postions and can also play no9 as he did against city in cl. Leaving the likes of BAE, parker, huddelstone, gomes, livermore, dempsey, ade to be sold mayb 20 - 25 mill for them all. Take that plus bale money you have 100 mill buy them three players for 60 - 70 mill leaving profit of 30 - 40 mill. Now I ain't gunna say a starting 11 because that's pointless we need a squad for the season not 11 players so a 25 man squad of ( excuse spelling ) :
Lloris
Fridel
Rose
Contreo
Walker
Caulker
Dawson
Vert
Kaboul
Naughton
Sandro
Carrol
Paulinho
Dembele
Chadli
Holtby
Townsend
Sigg
Lennon
Lamela
Eriksen
Soldado
Defoe
Fryers
Ceballos

These are just my views but I honestly do think that would be a squad that could actually compete with the big boys. And I myt jus ad the biggest point from a levy view 30 - 40 mill profit could b made from that happening this window.

Spurs tell Real Madrid you can have Bale for 100 MILLION

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we will hold on to Bale this season then sell him next year for £55m.

We did the same with Modric

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we'll take 50m plus Di Maria and Contrea this summer. With business already done plus Soldado we are a much stronger team. Hate to say it, but I think if Levy gets 50m plus those 2 players from Madrid it's very good business financially and on the field.

I'm hearing again Soldado will be announced by Monday/Tuesday - hoping to tempt fate with my other 'panic' post about our squad ;-)

Hi any eds or anyone no if Rossi is back to full fitness and what his current club situation is {Ed008's Note - Joined Fiorentina last January and is working on his fitness in pre-season scoring quite a few goals.

As much as I think Bale is a fantastic player and should keep him and add players to the team with him, 85m is a lot to turn down and providing the money was spent on 3-4 top players it could work out great for us ideally. Bale could end the speculation by saying he wants to stay or hand in a transfer request surely it can't be about losing money if he really wants out ask for a transfer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, and for once I will give Levy a pat on the back! Now if Bale is as upset as the papers say, then let him ask for a transfer and forfeit his millions he is entitled to!

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we really turn down the quoted £51million plus coentrao and di Maria?
If that was offered, I don't think we can.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get real you guys.
Bale is 24 and has no International future, can't see Wales qualifying for any tournament.

So his career is at the domestical level only. I don't blame him for wanting to move to Real and play CL every year and with the strong possibility of winning it

Agree0 Disagree0

As I said, hand in a transfer request then!

Agree0 Disagree0

If he hands in a transfer request his value will go down no doubt. Other teams will look at it as, he wants to leave and now he's forfeited his bonus so no need to pay 85mill+. IMO keep him, let him showcase his quality for 1 more season then let him decide next year where he wants to be.
There's no benefit to us selling our and the Epl's best player as any player we bring in will need time to settle.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he handed in a transfer request, why would that affect his value? It is Levy they are dealing with. It didn't matter that rat boy handed in a request, Levy won't let them go unless he gets what he wants.
Personally I wish he would tell the fans what he wants to do, just to end all this hysteria surrounding the club!

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he wants to leave and nobody wants to keep an unhappy player. We all said the same thing about Benteke.
Yes Levy did stand strong with Modric but had an offer from a foreign team came in at the same value of what Chelsea bid we would've accepted. Levy just didn't want to sell to a club in the Epl. My guess is it'll be the same stance with Bale.
I agree, it would help if he just came out and said it but I think Spurs have asked him not to talk to the press regardless of what he chooses to do. Only a guess though.

Still no sign of Kaboul, nearly a year out now. Sandro's injury is Hargreaves-esque, Vertonghen likely to be out a few weeks, going to have to suffer some Bale uncertainty and, still no new striker. We're on a knife-edge as usual, maybe so close to a really good team/squad but, just as close to a slow and unsettled start with potential of being left mis-balanced and short of depth again.
Yes the window shuts in 5weeks but the season starts in just 3, that's not long and the first game has cost us as much as any for the past 2 years.
