We must tie up the Adebayor deal asap because he is a proven Prem striker and goalscorer and, at the moment, every possible target that is only potentially half-decent is being tagged with a fee of £20million plus! Gaston Ramirez is touted at £20mill and is a winger, Hulk has scored goals in Portugal for the strongest team in Portugal yet has a release clause of £85m and presumably they'd expect at least £35m. Damaio looks like he could be good but again, he's not the finished article and has to adjust from Brazil to England and is valued at £20-25m. All of these represent a huge risk and seemingly don't want to leap to sign for us anyway.
All the clubs are happy to keep their best players unless they get silly money and them and agents are also all happy to play on the PSG, Chelski, Schitty link factor to help bump up the prices.
Get Ade in asap, find another striker of some sort that may be reasonable like the Borriello loan and wait for the right big-signing if it's got to be big money. Can't ever see Levy panic-buying at £10million though let alone £20milliion, we've needed new strikers for 2 years and only got a 'proper' one on loan last year after the season had started.

If spurs do sell Modric the likelyhood is that there will not be a direct replacement, with the emergence of Sandro, having Parker and sigg, as well as thudd, Livermore etc. any funds from a potential move for Modric would more than likely results in spurs persueing the need for a striker, whether that be Adebayor or any of the many other strikers we have been linked with over the summer. Personally I think Adebayor and Sturridge would form an excellent partnership, and with Chelsea's spending spree the right offer might just tempt them to cash in on Sturridge.

I agree with your comment apart from sturridge to spurs. The majority of Chelsea fans that I know can't wait to see the back of him. They've labled him greedy, a waste and has a attitude problem. Why would you want that at spurs.

Another thing...... Forget what he done at Bolton, what has he done at a top club like Chelsea when he was given the chance??......just proves he can't handle it at the top level. I'd rather sign that judas Berbatov.....

In fairness he was played out of his preferred position (on the side of 3 pronged attack) with chelsea, at Bolton he played in central striker role (with success). . Given AVB prefers a 4 3 3 I can't see him coming to play out wide again. I do see him as a prospect than Defoe in the central role however. For me Defoe is the definition of a confidence player (great when hot pants imbetween).

There's nothing worse then a greedy overated player like sturridge in your starting 11.

Auspur- fair enough but tonight he looks awful up top for England. I only see Coulibaly as the successor of Defoe.
He's a bit like bentley. Can shine in lower league teams but goes missing playing at the highest level. No thanks to sturridge.

Having bags of money and luck is the only reason you ended the season the way you did - spurs, man utd, arsenal are proper football institutions. Chelsea and Man City are the reason price hiking for foreign footballers has come in and is also the reason our youth development is suffering. I don't wish this on any club not even Arsenal but I hope Abramovich eventually pulls out of your club and it ceases to exist! The least graceful fans on this planet are Chelsea fans, buying success doesn't make you a good club. Also buying attacking midfielders is good but having a manager to implement this system you don't! Di Matteo 6 months and that will be another manager sent packing! They want to be the best so they buy the best players what's simple as
I see a post on here that said spurs had agreed a fee with Oscar & hazard but they then went to Chelsea but if they did come to you would that of ment you would be buying the title. Jealous is the word

Modric this modric that, forget him..we are in a desperate situation for a striker, the team is on tour in america with a midfield signing and a defensive signing. mark my words!..if we don't sign a proven striker in the coming weeks, we will struggle big time nxt season, jd is not the 20 goal a season player anymore, we need and must get a proven goalscorer from one of the best leagues in europe..who?

Gooners proved that with a prolific goalscorer you can achieve top 3. Gooners season was totally saved by his goals rest of team is average. We have great team but need a striker who can rattle in 20+ if we had that last season we may not have fallen away so badly. Splash the cash and get in top goalscorer daniel.

DL & AVB know this. They have plans re goal-scorers, replacement for RFace. Wait until the Tour of USA is over and all will happen. Frustrating though.
