There was a team who a couple of years ago went to Manchester and lost by 6 goals.
Today with same manager that team is top of the league.
Some times comfort comes from the strangest of places.
OK we hadn't just spent 100 mil but footballs a funny old game

Neutral fan here.

How does it feel when Aaron Ramsey has scored more goals in all competitions than the whole spurs team have in the premier league this season and do you think AVB is to blame for this or levy for buying the wrong players.

not looking for a fight just wondered what you guys thought. {Ed008's Note - Well when you mention Ramsey your clearly an Arsenal fan looking for trouble lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I didn't say what sport i'm a neutral fan of ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

How does it feel that for such a ' big team' as you lot think Arsenal are that you haven't won anything for what 9 years? Aaron Ramsey the same player who you lot continually slated and abused for years! Your luck will runout, and trust me you have had heaps of good luck for years. Enjoy while it lasts because you won't win anything, again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well spurs are massive so as long as we're ALWAYS finishing above you I'm happy mate. and of course we've won nought in nine years. we've been spending all our money on our stadium!. Look at spurs net spending vs arsenals and then look at where we've finished and the yearly champions league qualification. There is no argument here. Arsenal is a better run club end of

Agree0 Disagree0

All these gooners on here taking the p.ss.
Deserved I know but they have short memories. Didn't they concede 8 in Manchester last season? Now look how they have moved on. Its football, it can happen to any team. It's just our turn this time. The real big test is how we react. AVB doesn't seem to be learning. At 3 down at half time, I was screaming for holtby off and ade on and move to 442. He done just that. I thought maybe he is thinking a bit more but alas no, 10 mins later, soldado off and back to 1 upfront. Now what's the point in that when you are getting trounced?
Answers on a postcard to AVB please.

Just heard that £108 million worth of nearly new goods will be available at a knock down price in January, last owner moving on.
any bids considered!

on a serious note I do not know what to do, I only hope that AVB and Levy can do something but what our best team?
this my team for next week against Man U

Hugo
walker Kaboul Jan chireches

Lennon kapoue Sandro lamela
dembelle
soldado

Subs brad, naughton, Daws, pauliniho Townsend, Adebayour
J.D

Gutted and avoiding MOTD again

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm thinking a total change of formation.
Why not play 3 CB's Verts, kaboom and chariches.
Paulinho or cappoue and sandro. DM's and covering back.
Lennon, lamela.
Holtby or erikson and 2 strikers.
Something needs to be changed and my gut feeling is that AVB can't change.

chelsea fans told us avb would wreck our club. they are right.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah and they have the money to put it right! Levy needs to make a decision now or we WILL pay the PRICE!

Agree0 Disagree0

Brother who is a Chelsea fanatic who suffers watching Spurs with me when we are on the box, he has developed a soft spot for us but it's really a kind of sympathy thing and he keeps telling me that AVB is arrogant self centered and clueless, I have been in denial and he is correct

Agree0 Disagree0

U spurs fans always bring up money with chelsea! Well guess what you have spent a lot and gone backwards. Us chelsea fans told you what this bloke is like! His tatics are terrible he stubborn. He trys to be like mourinho but your never be as good as the real deal. Quicker you get rid the better! Seems to me avb won't let the attacking player's play the team looks like its playing with the hand break on he needs to let them play {Ed008's Note - Why is all the blame on the manager?? Players failed to perform! Morale dropped massively as soon as you concede in the 1st minute! He went 442 after h/t to salvage a result it backfired, Spurs simply couldn't take their chances simple as that and 6-0 is not a fair reflection of the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mourinho is a little cry baby spoilt brat as he showed when the ref came out last week and said he got the penalty decision wrong. Mourinho is deluded, a bit like you pinky.

Lads as rubbish as that performance was we all need to try and be even more patient. AVB has not got it right this season, that much is clear, but chucking him now would only make things worse. Remember we literally have half a new squad, most of whom have never played in the PL before. I know they've had a while to adjust now and should be playing better, but I have to believe they'll come good.

Eriksen will be fantastic, Lamela will come into his own. Looking at the table it's quite frankly amazing how we are still easily in contention for top four in spite of how terribly we've been playing. It is only Arsenal that have been consistently good this season. IF, and I stress IF we can bounce back and beat Manchester United next weekend, things will look incredibly different.

We all need to stick behind AVB and the boys at least until Christmas. If we're languishing in 10th in the new year then maybe it will be his time to go

Some lucky results early on paper over the cracks ie. lucky penalty to beat Pallace, injury time I nil wins against Cardiff and Hull, lucky not to concede a penalty to Everton. AVB is the problem. Boring football at pedestrian pace, wrong system and too stubborn to change. We need to play 4:4:2 and a manager must be able to motivate players. Ade is a class striker proven with some of the best teams and I am convinced that if he is played with Soldado, then we shall start to see the real Soldado. Bring in an English manager and start us playing attractive football again.

Well sad to say a lot of us who have been at WHL are shocked at the size of todays humiliation but not at the nature of it.Time to face a few unpleasant facts. 1. We can forget about CL this season, we are no where near good enough, the plain fact is that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Man City are all far better than us. 2. We have gone backwards since AVB took over. Andre took over a team that had just finished 4th in he PL, since then he has taken us down to 5th despite having had the advantage of Gareth Bale in absolutely world class form, this season 6-8 looks like a realistic forecast of where we will finished. 3. The Bale money has not been wisely spent. It hurts to say it but possibly only Spurs could spend 100m and become a worse team. Lamella looked class for Roma but imo clearly doesn't want to be in England or the PL.Soldado can clearly score but he is also clearly not the striker to play in the system AVB wants to play so questions have to be asked about his signing. Given his absence through injury the jury must still be out on Capoue. Paulinho I think is a class player but doesn't play at the pace required for the PL and tends to slow us down, I also question whether he was even the type of player we needed. Chadli is very obviously out of his depth and smacks of Levy signing him on the cheap and hoping he would shine so he could be sold on at a large profit. Eriksen has had one very good game and a couple of decent ones so again Jury still out. Chiriches is in my opinion the only player who has truly impressed me so far and I think will go on to become a mainstay of our defence. Looking at those signings one obvious question comes to mind, why was such a huge amount of money spent on players who didn't have a minute of PL experience between them? Did no one at the top at WHL think it might be wiser to mix foreign signings with proven PL performers? 4. AVB is a classic case of a manager succesful abroad but totally unsuited to the PL. Whatever HRs shortcomings as a manager he was canny enough to get Spurs playing a high tempo game where we always looked capable of scoring even against other top 4 teams, AVB seems determined to impose a very slow, ponderous and frankly desperately dull style of football on THFC with no plan B when things are clearly not working. 5 . We have been found out, teams now know that as long as they just do the basics defensively we are unlikely to score and that they can afford to get at us in relative confidence.
Personally I don't think AVB is up to it but I am willing to give him till the end of the season to prove me wrong. In terms of players I say we get rid of Soldado and Lamella in January before their value falls any more, spend what it takes to get Benteke (or Lukaku) and another PL proven creative player and we may salvage something (5th place?) from thi season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can forget Lukaku because he said he will never play for avb again

Agree0 Disagree0

I know it sounds drastic but Levy HAS to get rid of AVB NOW or the SEASON is OVER the longer it goes on Saldado and Lamala will have lost all confidence and future value, the team will end up 6/7/8th at best the fans are about 2/3 games away from turning against AVB, the football is rubbish to watch and no BALE to bale us out!! happy days YODDO's

Agree0 Disagree0

As I said in my original post I doubt AVB is up to it but who is available to take his place? Hoddle to me seems a romantic choice but he has been out of management a long time so for me a no. Personally I would give AVB till the end of the season because I think whoever we replaced him with now still wouldn't be able to get us CL this season so we might as well let this season go and make sure we make the right appointment in the Summer, my shortlist would be Pochetinno, Martinez or another shot at persuading Klinsmann to take the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Best post I have read on here for a long time, we have been desperate for AVB to succeed so much so that we have all been in denial and have watched a boring side who shift the ball at a snails pace.
We are desperate to love our new signings but the truth is we may have got this so so wrong, I hope not, I still want to believe but when you looked at Our players today you could see that they have lost their confidence and belief Jan looked so fed up and who can blame him, stop passing backwards for gods sake

Agree0 Disagree0

Good shout tottenhamluke but Klinsmann is another romantic choice who was helped by Low, a bit early to say about Mauricio Pochettino didn't have a great record in Spain not sure any of us no the answer! I was a Harry lover for the style of play but was hoping AVB would be the next level but after the start o we have had this season I am not sure!

To all the Dawson lovers, daws for England?? I wish some one would send a taxi for him! Vert at left back never works, even he says so! Dawson instead of Chiriches??
AVB, I thought he was it, we'll he brought the players and plays them all out of position, too arrogant to admit his tactics are wrong, can't change his tactics if needed, plays Paulinho and Sandro together but it doesn't work, etc etc! What's the answer? We need time to gell, according to this banter site! I don't know but we have Utd and Saints coming up, what position will we be in then, but we will still be gelling!

Remember when everybody wanted Harry out.?
Look what we have now .
We use to be exciting playing well pride heart determination speed.
No we have lazy slow side and back passing boring football .
We have bought builders and tried to turn them into mechanics.
What I mean by that is: players are bought to play a system they dnt like avb system tactics etc.
Football is such a beautiful easy game that's why we can all play it and enjoy it except avb
Taxi for avb

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I for one was gutted when Harry went, it was the best football I have watched over recent years as a season ticket holder, I have been selling all my home games on stub hub this year I have always gone to games #soboring#AVBout need to be entertained win loose or draw I know we had record points last year but Bale was the reason not AVB

That was dreadful. We are now 9th. Last time out a home win against Newcastle would have put us second. We are simply not good enough and AVB must go. He has not got a clue tactically and is too arrogant to change. Man City came in to this game with 100% home record and a huge goals for. I thought that we would start with Paulinho/ Sandro and Dembele to try and control the midfield. I also question some of his signings ie. obvious now why we got Holtby for 1 million. He is not good enough. Chadli is not good enough. Jury is still out on Lamela/ Soldado/ Capoue and Paulinho appears to slow us down. Top four now will be very difficult.

Next week could be the final game for Andre if this happens again. Rubbish Rubbish Levy will be thinking of a new manager very soon. I am sure of it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And about time too.

As I posted recently, we are the laughing stock of the premier league. Again.

If I read or hear anymore talk about patience or winning league ill burst. Don't mind losing if players try but lazy lazy lazy explains it all. We are rubbish. I know people will disagree but no one moves or makes space. Lennon - gash, Soldado -gash, Lamela - gash paulinho -gash etc etc. AVB too arrogant to admit his tactics are wrong & today proves it. City didn't even play well.
6-0 is just wrong. I look forward to reading all your replies saying I'm wrong but you'll have egg on your faces . It kills me to say it but its embarrassing.

Agree0 Disagree0

All true.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would Love Hoddle back, really wanted it to work for AVB but looks like he is loosing the dressing room and ideas, The highline is not suiting attacking fullbacks and Daws, passing sideways is allowing teams to sit in a formation and let us have the ball knowing we can't get behind them and hurt them Bales goals last year papered over the cracks - his time may be up by Christmas!

Levy needs to take a long look and make some hard decisions

Agree0 Disagree0

Wildy your spot on. What made me laugh was bringing on the dynamic Siggurdson, that sums up Avb.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Crafty.
I agree with the Siggs part. I've commented on Lennon before but surely he must be dropped. He does 1 or 2 bursts and then vanishes. Where was Townsend although he's inconsistent . We are clueless & I think AVB feels the same. City's goals came from supporting players busting a gut to get into space. I've watched 1st half again and Soldado, Pauli, Lennon, Lamela are just not moving. It's easy to say AVB out but the players are hopeless and all clueless. #backs to goal

Avb out now!!
His philosophy on football is ugly and boring. Never been this bored watching us ever. Bring back hoddle {Ed008's Note - LOL! It's far from ugly!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totaly agree. And please for the love of God get Levy the f8ck out of this club once and for all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Avb thinks he is some sort of prodigy genius, well he ain't. If Avb was an ice cream he would be licking himself all day. Get him out. I would settle fof Hoddle anyday just get rid of Avb please. This time to gel stuff is nonsense, we are soo far off gelling its laughable, we are going backwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and why drop Chiriches and our main attacking threat soo far this season in Townsend?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it still from ugly ed lol
Forget systems formations tactics. If a manager can't spur a team on what's the point

Haa, wow. what an embaressing performance.

ed, the players seem not to be playing for avb? {Ed008's Note - I dunno let's see if the press pose the question to AVB..

Agree0 Disagree0

He's saved the big boys for Europe.

Seriously, wtf was that today. We are in trouble.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey ed, the press are going to destroy Avb. They love anti spurs stuff as it is but this will be warranted. {Ed008's Note - AVB's mistakes were starting with Kaboul and Lennon the rest were a team's shocking performance..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, biggest mistake was starting with Dawson and Paulinho! {Ed001's Note - I would agree with you on that, Dawson is simply not good enough and Paulinho slows down the play too much allowing the opposition to get back into position.}
