I can't believe we didn't appoint Glenn hoddle when avb was sacked he would have accepted any deal. He would have got the best out of the flair players and his knowledge of the game is great. We went of a manager with zero experience well done me levy again keep up the good work. Does any1 think we should say thank you and good bye to Tim now as we got nothing to loose

Mrg.

I'm sorry but you are the type of Spurs fan I do not like.

How can you judge Tim after just a couple of months in charge in his first real big job as a manager?

The fact of the matter is he is our manager, he signed an 18 month contract and as far as I'm concerned, we already sacked one manager this season, if we sack another so soon, what kind of image would that show? What manager would want to come to "happy sacking" Spurs?

Give me a break.

Football management is obviously easy on fifa 14.
fortunately mrg isn't our chairman

Would like opinions on stars threatening to leave if we don't get CL. Vertongen and Lloris are quoted as saying that they will consider their options if we do not get CL place? I thought both of these were under contract to the club? If they do try to leave, I hope Levy does what Liverpool did with Susrez and tells them they are under contract and that is the end of it. It appears contracts only binds the club, and the player can opt out anytime he chooses. This has to stop otherwise ALL the top players will end up in the top four teams and the other 15 will just be playing for fun with no hope of winning anything. FIFA's new rule appears to be a joke ie. If Chelsea and Man City have no problem with it what team will have a problem with it?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Contracts don't really bind the club, they can sell the player if they choose to.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, but only if the player agees to the sale.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps superjan should try to ensure top 4 at the club he's currently employed by!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fully agree with the sentiment Bucks, but when you line up next to Dawson week in week out with Rose outside you and a midfield that is constantly being overrun by teams with less talent but better tactics you can see why the likes of LLoris and Verts may have one eye looking out the door.

Question, to lighten the mood for you all guys and gals (and Eds) out there.

With all the debate over Sherwood being capable etc. What would be your preferred formation and team selcetion from the current crop of players, if everyone where fit and available (including players loaned out)?

Mine is as follows -

Lloris
Walker, Kaboul, Chiriches, Vertonghen(Capt)

Sandro

Lennon, Dembele, Eriksen, Chadli

Ade

Subs - Archer, Naughton, Holtby, Soldaldo, Paulinho, Dawson, Capoue

I have gone with this formation as it gives us good strength in midfield and cover for the back 4 and also good attacking presence. I have put Vert at left back, event though he is our best centre half by a mile left back is a position that needs attention and we currently have no one capable of doing a decent job. I have choosen Chadli over Townsend as I feel he is more of a team player rather than shooting from 30-40yards everytime he gets the ball.

Your thoughts and choices greatly received.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would swap Chadli for Lamela. Chadli is shocking and I believe Lamela will come good. I would prefer Townsend over Chadli.

Agree0 Disagree0

Other than the revolving door of managers . the issue of recurring injuries does not help us. Look at this lineup both Kaboul and Sandro are seemingly unable to play half a premier league season. Which forces "rotation" with quality backups. Leaving us with 3 positions exposed if you add in LB cause Verts should be in the middle. Then if Ade goes down we are totally screwed. What the hell happened to the 100m?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lloris
Walker - Chiriches - Vertonghen - Rose
Sandro Dembele
Lennon Townsend
Lamela
Soldado/Ade

I think getting Lamela playing just off the striker in a 4-4-1-1, similar to how VDV use to play could potentially work wonders, I think Lamela and Soldado could have a good partnership and something that's untested.

Townsend should only be allowed near a football pitch if he plays on the left and runs at opposition full backs, or he sits in a room for 3 months watching videos of Arjen Robben and sees how to play as an inverted winger.

I'm really not one to slate our players, but you know when you just can't see what a player offers, enter - Nacer Chadli

Agree0 Disagree0

I've been wanting someone to play Lamela and soldado upfront together since we bought them. I personally think they would bring out the best in each other.

Agree0 Disagree0

4-4-1-1 (like our old system with VDV in the hole)

Lloris

Walker, Vertonghen, Chiriches, Rose

Lennon, Sandro, Paulinho, Townsend

Eriksen

Adebayor

Subs:

Friedel, Kaboul, Fryers, Capoue, Dembele, Lamela, Soldado.

I do not want to see Dawson or Naughton anywhere near our first team. They are both diabolically bad.

Chadli isn't as good as Townsend, Lennon and Lamela IMO. He is good though if/when injuries/cup games come into play.

Holtby has the passion, which I hugely admire. BUT, for me, he never quite does enough to impress me football wise. Again, just another injuries/cups replacement player.

Just my thoughts.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would play 4-1-3-1-1
Lloris
Walker - Chiriches - Vert - Fryers
Sandro
Lennon - Dembele - Eriksen
Lamela
Soldado

Subs : some goalie, Ade , Kaboul, Holtby, Paulino, Capoue

In certain games we could do 2 Def Mid if needed, and other games combine Ade and Lamela . We would have cover at LB and RB, vert and Kaboul, and Holtby to cover Eriksen . Then get a manager who can make these players play with passion and to their strengths, we would take some stopping!

Wulf, perhaps it's not only me who can see the truth about Dawson now?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agreed with you last week, but I have been nervous watching him since he cost us the first arse game. He is just not fast enough, which players can make up for if they read the game better than everyone else, but he does not. I wish we had of cashed in on him last year when QPR were after him. Now no chance of a sale as everyone can see he is over the hill.

Agree0 Disagree0

What truth? The imagery you make up in your own mind to satisfy your predetermined hatred projected onto a player to rationalise your frustration? Pull the other one mate.

There were 2 people at fault for that goal and Dawson was neither one of them. Let me educate you:

1. Bentaleb lost the ball when he had a simple option. That put Rose out of position and unable to recover so Bentaleb should have covered the LB position. Instead he went charging into no man's land.

2. Vert did not drop back. When an opposition midfielder has the ball and is under no pressure then the defensive line MUST drop back if there are strike runners. With no pressure on the ball it is way too easy to beat an offside trap so the defence has to cover the space behind them. Dawson saw this and dropped back, Vert was ball watching and did not cover Snodgrass who was running right at him.

This is simple stuff Davo. You really should know this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wulf, didn't blame Dawson for the goal! But overall as usual he was made to look very slow and an average player!
