well done spurs on coming back from 2-0 down on the down side I thought the full backs are dreadful if they play like that against suarez and sturridge next week we are in for a hammering

Totaly agree with you, however I think a corner has been turned bear with me Sherwood came in at first he was just another unproven to the players, had to win the dressing room and the boardroom basically mark his territory to clicks in the dressing room and new recruits while trying to win matches . And converse with different cultures and personalities knows he's got some injuries and not so good players but getting what he can out of them . He has won the dressing room and rules no dissent or bad eggs no gossip they all keep quiet fearful of Sherwood ist part of jigsaw there was a different metality in them today, hope gilfys goal is like robins for united we all know the dynasty that came after that, that's the feeling and gut instinct I get about Sherwood he could build a dynasty spurs should back him might be wrong but feel a corner has been turned . Liverpool 6 spurs 0 that's what usually happens after a high but I think spurs will get a result at anfield . Going back into padded jacket now .

Gylfi u beauty!!
We never could do things the easy way well played Sherwood made great decision to bring him on also thought soldaldo was great and I have not said that to often and to be fair to Tim who gets a lot of stick from spurs fans we r 5th and if we r being honest we have the 5 best squad in the league so to gets us in the champion league would have been some achievement
And can't help but still belive we can get into the top four as long as mathematicly can however I certainly won't be placing a bet on it
Great result hopefully get a bit of momentum together for next season

Not so sure about the Great Decision to bring on Siggy, was told Dembele was injured! As for stick from the fans, doesn't he deserve it at times! Tactically useless, hasn't learned a thing from the previous manager about high lines, ( in fact AVB was twice as good ), and his stubbornness in sticking with some right useless players is beyond belief!

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll see when dawson comes back from injury if he sticks by rubbish players. We all know naughton and Rose are ropey, but who else do we have?

To the credit of the management at spurs we have played like rubbish and are still up there. If it comes together we will be looking good.

on another note, whenever paulinho doesn't play for a spell we start to play better. I honestly believe he is by far the worst signing and the one who has had the biggest detrimental impact. let's hope AVB comes in and buys him for a nicely overinflated levy price.

Agree0 Disagree0

When we play at a high tempo passing and closing down as we did in the second half we are much better, which explains why Paulinho is soo ineffective.

{Ed008's Note - Lot's of complaints about the high line that Spurs are playing with the problem is if you playing a high line you need a sitting Defensive Midfielder like Sandro just infront of Kaboul-Vertonghen and today Bentelab is playing that role and he's been poor, secondly you need Full-Backs with pace who have a footballing brain when to push up Naughton-Rose haven't got a clue when to do so thus it's resulted in 2 mistakes and 2 goals for Southampton.
AVB had a tactical plan when playing like that the problem is when you don't have the right players for the system it results in mistakes as seen many times this season with this Spurs team, more work needs to be done at the training ground and the more i think about it the sacking of AVB was ridiculous too many backstage politics in the Spurs boardroom along with that old man Sugar moaning on a daily basis about Spurs..

My point all the time Ed! If TS didn't love Bentaleb so much, he might play Capoue who is a DM, but what can we say!
We are playing better now, but what worries me is, if we win this then it helps Sherwood even more when all he has done is cocked it up again!

Agree0 Disagree0

The switch for Siggs to come on did do a good job in putting more pressure on the Southampton midfield that gave us more stability with the high line. Personally annoying to me that a player who was asked to do more running around had a positive impact haha.

The problem with Rose and Naughton is that they stay ahead of the transition line. You are always going to lose possession in the midfield at times, it is a stupid game plan to assume that will never happen. Unless they are deliberately on an overlap into space then the full backs have to stay level or behind where the ball is. Rose is especially guilty of this, playing more like a left winger.

Bentaleb is often behind the game and that hurts us when we want to play the high line, but I do give him credit for how well he covered at left back for Rose who was determined to stay so high.

But I would slightly disagree with you Ed8 that to do it properly doesn't require just 1 defensive midfielder, it requires 2 in a double pivot. Sandro alone would not be enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - Sandro just infront of Kaboul-Vertonghen is enough with Dembele playing a little further up, Naughton-Rose are poor defensively and don't know when to tuck in and when to push up their isn't a talker at the back aswell it's evident as a player like Cannavaro would urge his defence to push up etc

Agree with Davo and Simmo. Out with Naughton, Rose, Sherwood and this stupid/ suicidal High Line defence. This performance is simply unacceptable.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We can't survive without a DM, what Benteleb is doing is beyond me . Everybody including Arry's wife knows that Southampton are going to break fast, why can't TS? Also, Vert and Kaboom, are having to cover the useless full backs which means they are getting pulled all over the place!
We are fast becoming the PL joke team, and by next Saturday we will be in Seventh position!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ps, would stick with Soldado over Ade and Kane anyway of the week! Bet you TS takes Soldado off after 75 mins!

Agree0 Disagree0

Pss, what the hell is Siggy doing on the pitch, another winger that can't cross!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - He's not even a Winger another player being played out of position!

Siggy does pop up like that. Another one who doesn't play and when he does always in different positions.

Watching the game today vs Southampton: the boys look terrible. Here's the deal.

Lennon: Usual terrible game. Does nothing at all.
Naughton: F**king useless. Cost us 2 goals
Rose: Just plain Useless
Soldado: Completely lost on the pitch

It's time to clean house.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lennon is another player who is not being utilised correctly. He is not a standard winger. Dribbling and his speed are not his main assets; his acceleration is. Why would you play a ball to the feet of a player like that?

Yet we too often do.

What the lion is this high line about? Everytime the opposition attack they threaten to score. If they break quickly all that is required is to play the ball between the center backs and the fastest person gets the ball. The attacker always has the advantage. Give me a new manager who abandons this high line. 2-0 down and looking vulnerable at the back Everytime Saints attack. Disgusted.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I posted "what the hyena". You changed it to "what the line" ed?

Soft as $h1t goal yet again! Whoever the manager is you can't legislate for rank like that. Naughton is garbage.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Please Daniel get rid of this useless t**t of a manager! What the f**k is he playing Eriksen on the left for, the stupid high back line, and garbage we call left and right backs . Out now, Naughton, rose and TS, and that's just from today's shambles!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon, Naughton & Rose are just killing this team

Agree0 Disagree0

If Eriksen was played on the left because Chadli was doing such a good job centrally then you could maybe understand it. But Chadli doesn't look comfortable there and is looking to get wide into space a lot. Which is understandable and forgiveable because he's a wide player and should be playing wide.

We're still playing the AVB high line. Which either means TS likes it but doesn't know how to use it (at least AVB understood it which is why barring a couple of heavy defeats our defence was actually solid), or he doesn't know what he is doing.

It's just baffling. Nobody here could claim to be able to do a better job than the top PL managers. With TS it is obvious.

Agree0 Disagree0

Soldado showing some class touches, shame nobody behind him has any plan or direction to work to. Sacking AVB was pointless, nothing has changed all season.

Well here is proof that Benfica was an accident. Chadli central, Eriksen on the left again. Dembele in a double pivot with Bentaleb.

Annoying that if you had those same three players with Cadli left, Eriksen central but deeper and Dembele back to his AMC role he had with Fulham and I think we'd be so much better.

At least he won't be here next year.
