Why dont we make a move for Pepe Raina? Said he wanted to challenge for honours. He not going to do that at Liverfool. £15m could get him. Better option than Lloris?

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Reina wants a club that is going to challenge for silver, why would he go to Tottenham? He should go to Celtic.

Agree4 Disagree1

Better option I agree, but in this modern day reina strikes me as one of the more loyal players. Saying that if barca or RM come in offering him 200k a wk I'm sure he wud b off

Agree1 Disagree0

I would say personally that bale is better now than when arsenal first signed Henry as a winger then moved him in to a more forward position.

Agree1 Disagree4

Because he has ambition to win things, why on Earth would he join Spurs!!

Agree3 Disagree1

You wouldn't get Reina for £15 million. More like £30 million, and he wouldn't go to Spurs.

Agree1 Disagree1

Reinas on par with gomes. Mistake after mistake

Has anyone considered whether all our Striker problems could be sorted by playing Bale in the T Henry role after all Henry started as a winger. Behind/With him VDV, Sigi, Lennon?. Behind them in holding roles Hud and Parker/Sandro. I also fancy Caulker to come through as K Walker did last year.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

We will only have striker problems if no one signs before league starts.
Time yet my friend, in DL we trust.

Agree1 Disagree2

Do you think Bale is as good as Henry? Wake up.

Agree5 Disagree2

Not as good as Henry at his peak but better than Henry at a comparable age. All down to AVB now to bring Bale to greatness.

Agree1 Disagree4

Henry is a legend......Bale will never compare...........Modric could have been a legend

Bearing in mind that Moderic has refused to sign a new contract and that dring the 2012/2013 season be 3 years into a 6 year contract it may well be woth reminding everyone that in the background there is something called the Webster ruling .

In simple terms it means that Moderic will be able to buy himself out of his contract and if the figures re his wages are correct he will be sold for no more that £6 million

Believable1 Unbelievable1

That rule don't apply as he extended his contract.

Agree0 Disagree1

Agree with above poster about contract extension. That is why the nomads are setting a fee for RSVP, otherwienhr could buy his contract out too for less thn modrics

Agree0 Disagree0

Article 17 of FIFA's Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players is entitled "Consequences of Terminating a Contract Without Just Cause", and is the fifth article of Chapter IV, "Maintenance of Contractual Stability between Professionals and Clubs". It outlines the provisions which apply if a contract is terminated without just cause, and the requirement for the party in breach to pay compensation. Specifically, it states that any player who signed a contract before the age of 28 can buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal was signed. If he is 28 or older the time limit is shortened to two years. Article 17 was introduced in December 2004, with effect from 1 July 2005.
In this instance the new (not extended) contract that Moderic signed for 6 years in 2010 means that he can walk as long as he gives the approprite notice, at the appropriate time.

Agree1 Disagree1

Also, you need to be either 28 or 29 years old to use the webster ruling to buyout your contract.

Interestingly i think rvp can force the webster ruling if it's 28.

Naz

Agree1 Disagree1

Sorry Naz your wrong. Before age 28 you have to have completed 3 years of your cotrcat and over 28 its only 2 years.

Agree1 Disagree1

Ok mah bad.

But rvp can buyout his right? Someone tell him! The less arsenal get, the better!

Naz

Agree1 Disagree2

The Webster Ruling is a bit more complex. My understanding is the player has to invoke it 15days after the season has ended, so that can't happen with rvp now. Also playing sanctions of between 4 and 6months can be imposed on the player. Its complicated so usually not the best way for a player to go unless very desperate!

Agree0 Disagree0

The theory is that you have to give notice within 15 days of season end however if you dont and just give notice then Uefa/Fifa will impose penalties but unlikely to be more than a few weeks ban.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who the hell is Moderic? (Original Poster)

Modric is gonna ruin his career by going Spain, he will be rotting on the bench.

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Agree. Overrated. Not enough goals or assists to justify more than £20 million.

Chelsea have 13 mill bid for Lewandowski rejected. why cant we table a bid of 20 mill to get him. we can guarantee him playing time and would be a great addition to our squad.

i knoe Levy has problems with his wife but AVB needs to take control of transfers and get his finger out. we need strikers and soon!

Haymaker

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Well, first of all, Chelsea supposedly offered 17 million. And were then told to double it. Does that answer your question?

Agree3 Disagree7

Now look at the posts. You will get most of our own fans slaying these rumours too.
Don't believe any thing you read. Not that difficult to work out is it.
Even most spurs fans know that and respond to these stupid comments.

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't know who Falcoe is? Any relation to Seb Coe?

Agree7 Disagree2

Typical chelsea fan can't even spell falcao, have the school holidays started yet

Agree6 Disagree3

Unfortunately they have which means we're gonna get more persons on here that make up rubbish instead of doing homework.

Agree1 Disagree1

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I can assure you very comfortably that Friedel will not be our number 1 next season...... And rightly so.

*lightning*

Agree1 Disagree2

Yeah, Nani would leave Man utd to join Spurs!! haha, keep dreaming

Agree5 Disagree1

Dont think nani is realistic as he wouldnt leave man u where he gets played a lot to join a team two places lower in the league.

Agree2 Disagree0

And the fact we have Lennon who is equally/better then nani!!

Agree2 Disagree5

Nani wouldnt get in our team , and Sandro is twice the player that Parker is !Ade or Berba , what planet are you on ? Thought we were trying to improve !!
Davo

Agree4 Disagree2

Nani is far too good to play for Spurs, why would he lower himself to play for you! And Lennon is no way near good enough to be compared to Nani, he cannot even make it into the England team!

Agree3 Disagree1

Whoever said lennon cant even be compared to nani is obviously about 12. lennon is a quality, very dangerous player. id prefer have him RW over nani any day!

Everyone is saying we don't have this amount or that amount of money. We won't pay £30m for a player etc etc. are you all forgetting that a couple of years ago we bid £38.5m for Aguero!?

We have plenty of money. We're one of the most financially stable clubs in the league. Money for the transfer isn't the issue, it's wages and no CL. If we can convince the right people that these things will happen in time, there's no reason we couldn't get some of the names being mentioned here that people are calling unrealistic!

Dom

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Plenty of money? So why the £60 million overdraft?

Agree3 Disagree3

£60mill overdraft? You need to get your facts right mate.

Agree2 Disagree3

The fact that we have such a huge overdraft goes to show how good of a credit rating we have! I have an overdraft with my bank account, doesn't mean that I'm in it. The better my credit rating gets, the more the bank are willing to increase it. That's the way finance goes... If you look at the debts being run up by other clubs, we don't have any of that. We are not in the red, we are very very firmly in the black. We are incredibly stable and have a lot of money!

Dom

Agree1 Disagree2

Anyway , who said we bid £38mill for Aguero , Arry ??
Davo

Agree2 Disagree0

A year ago, Tottenham's net debt was £57m. That is not an overdraft facility - it is what the club actually owed. Most of this debt is due to building the new training facility a couple of years ago and acquiring land around White Hart Lane as part of the Northumberland Park Development, but it does not matter how the debt was accumulated, it still has to be serviced and repaid. What ever we might want Levy to do, he still has to be careful to keep the finances under control.
