Isnt anytin I heard or anytin but just my opinion.i reckon we will sign holtby and negredo before next thursday, negredo scored 2 goals tonight too I might add, if we fail with negredo have a feeling we might sign hooper, but we wudnt have a problem signing holtby or negredo if levy stops his penny pinching and try to get players that are class for that little bit cheaper then there valued for instance negredo is worth between 12 and 15 mill I think levy will offer no more then 2 mill short of the valuation just to act the mickey.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

This hooper link is untrue.

A journalist linked him to us so midtable clubs like Norwich and everton(who are doing well this season) panic and start a bidding war.

Now serveral papers have noted it without having any real evidence a deal is in place.
One newspaper said he was at the game which was untrue. People just getting excited if you ask me.

I say we sign the ballboy up. Think how many players we got get sent off!

The Rabbit

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Although it was funny that was very unprofessional. There's other sneaky ways to waste time but doing it blatently was unfair.
Swansea may have no choice but to remove his duties as ballboy.
It did hunour me as I hate the chavs.

The Channeller

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it was time wasting but it's the ball boys job 2 get the ball not the players. So Hazard had no right 2 hassle him for it. How much of a up roar would there have been if the ball ball ran on the pitch and nicked the ball or something similar?
I was in complete shock when he kicked the ball from under him... So unprofessional. I mean what was he thinking?
I think Hoddle said it best when he said its part of the home advantage!

Agree0 Disagree0

He tweeted that it was his last game before the match, probably why he done and to help Swansea. Agree Unprofessional but Hazard should have known better!

Should go in for edin dzeko he would be a hit at whl.aslong a avb played him up top not like mancini who does not get the best from him

Believable1 Unbelievable0

We got more chance of signing Rooney!!

His wages would dwarf our top earner and man city would not sell him to anyone in the top 4 or 5.

Totally agree.. And proven

To the sweatysock, We, Levy, Avb don't want Hooper. If we did we would get him its as simple as that. Tottenham would rip you to shreds if we played a competitive game so keep enjoying your pathetic friendly win you had years ago.

Have you Spuds heard yourselves. Gary Hooper would be a quality player for your team, much better than what you have now. So what he plays in the SPL, so did Larsson. Hooper has proved he can score goals at a level higher than the premiership, The Champions League.

No matter what level you play at a strikers job is to put the ball in the back of the net and Hooper can do that no problem.

It's all right you's putting the SPL down, 99% of you have probably never even seen a Scottish game. Watching Hibs vs Hearts is no less entertaining as watching Wigan vs West Brom.

And I seem to remember a Celtic reserve team giving your first team a good doing a few years back at the start of one Celtic's worst seasons in years.

And for all you fans saying he would be the cheap option, He will cost £8.5m not the £6m you think.

Cheaper doesn't mean worse.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

This is a good joke

Agree2 Disagree0

Oh come off-it, watching spl is like pulling teeth.. painful, the majority of teams can't string 5 passes together without giving the ball away, you would find a better standard in lg1.
As for Hooper, well where to start, he needs 2or 3 touches to control a ball properly, he won't get away with that in pl, he's slow so how in the way of hell is he going to keep up with bale & lennon on counter attack.
He has a good strike rate i'll give him that but wasn't Connor Salmon leading goalscorer in spl at the time he signed for wigan & look how that turned out, There's plenty of others as well kenny Miller flopped, Tommy coyne, David Kelly David healy Kyle lafferty & mcdonald at middlesborough all scored goals at a certain but that's the crux of it that's there level.
Look Hooper might be a good impact sub for someone in bottom half of pl but he is nowhere good enough for a side chasing top4, he's about same standard as jay rodriques at southampton scored goals at his level & as for Hooper been better than Defoe, Adebayor or Dempsey jeez what are you on? Robbie keane looked like bloody Pele in a 2bob lg.
Now if it was that kid Watt it would be another story he definately has something about him & with right coaching could have a chance of been a hit in pl.

It seems Sir red nose Alex was also watching the Celtic game, so makes sense if he was looking at Wanyama, I can't see why avb would be watching him aswell, as we have been interested in moutinho, and guarin. Especially with the signing of holbty. So I think he was watching Hooper as it makes more sense. Also, michu signed a new 4 year contract with Swansea today, so he's out of the running. Although he would be a good signing we have missed out on, I just think levy and avb need to set there sights higher than players mentioned. So negredo is a must for us!
However, after watching the Celtic game, Hooper looks like a player who could convert chances, would be a great signing! His second goal last night showed his potential - class finish if you've not seen it. Would be a top player to fill in for Defoe when needed!

Finally, as I've previously said, Holtby this window is a must! And we should stop messing around between £600,000 and just bid the asking price. With these additions, top 4 is ours, and we will have quality players bulging from all areas off the pitch.

Thfcmatt

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Totally agree that we should sign Holtby now!!

I don't agree that we should sign Gary Hooper, I have a few mates which are Celtic supports and they certainly don't think this boy is special, good player for them yes but not sure why Spurs would enter the race with Norwich for his signature!

There are plenty of comments like "typical PL supporter" and "anyone who doesn't rate Gary Hooper because he plays in the SPL doesn't know anything about football" which is total nonesense! The fact he plays in the SPL doesn't make him a bad player but certainly does mean he has a lot to prove before a top 4 premier league side comes in for him. In short he is a massive gamble!!

That said the SPL isn't the best of leagues plus you would be hard pushed to name many players which have come out of that league in the last couple of years and are considered a TOP player! Jelavic for Everton has done a job agreed (not sure how many he has this season).

Anyway...

I personally do not think we should be buying anyone as "back up" for Defoe, we should be buying a top name to replace him, end of!! As much as I love defoe if we want to make th next step then we need a WORLD CLASS striker!! Just look at the utd game, what would have been the score if we had RVP up top for us??

WE NEED A TOP STRIKER AND ITS NOT GARY HOOPER!!

We should sign benteke would be good for us, and I wouldn't mind lakaku, all of the other players you mention damiao, negrado, I've never seen them play, we need someone good now and these two score goals.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Hunterlar is the man we need.... Cool, class act at finishing... How many chances do we create without it finished off... Puts us under immense pressure at the back

I'm just wondering what people think of wilfred bony at vitesse.

Seems to know where the back of the net is, and its time we discovered someone who doesn't cost top dollar who turns out to be a star.

Our scouts should be picking up the new talent and not always looking for the expensive buys that we never seem to be able to get. Not saying Bony is that I couldn't answer but he looks interesting think 16 in 18 goals this season so far.

There is a lot of talent out there that haven't yet made a name but could be excellent.

Just my thoughts

Marc {Ed002's Note - Wilfried Bony was of interest to Newcastle over the summer and has been a player Chelsea have been considering for a while. Recently there has been varying degrees of interest from Marseille, Aston Villa, QPR, Liverpool, Everton and a couple of German sides (Hamburg and Schalke) but only Marseille is pushing. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams, possibly Napoli and Roma. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea. Whilst an offer is imminent from one side and efforts are being made to get interest from Russia, any move in January is by no means certain and he will be away at the ACON until the middle of February.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Marc, he does score but he is not that great a player. He reminds me a little of martins that had a spell at Newcastle.

Was on this last night and seen a lot of the chat about Hooper, it seems a lot of you are turning your noses up at him, I see why you might question his ability at a top level cause the SPL is awful but your forgetting he has scored goals in the CL against Spartak Moscow as well as playing against Barca he has been brilliant for Celtic and I expect him to go but he deserves more respect than he is getting

Can people stop posting to/talking about the Oracle please.

He's obviously oblivious to life.

It's annoying and he doesn't need the attention you all give him.

Thanks

Im already ignoring him. And as we already know that 80% of his posts are utter nonsense and the other 20% we have all read in the press before he claims it as his ITK, it's very easy. Just read who has signed the post, if it ends with Oracle, I don't bother reading it. Simples.

Mark my words, if he says Diamiao will sign, he won't (AGAIN). He will not predict anything - just claim general knowledge as his. Then 1st Feb will arrive and we'll all be on here asking him to explain himself and he'll just disappear for a couple of months in the hope that we'll all forget. Same as every year.

Hearing rumours that David Villa wants to leave Barca, surely levy will look into getting him on the cheap. Would be the type of big signing we need

Jermain: One final point about Dembele.

I do rate him and I certainly don't want him to go, even if we signed another world class midfield player. It is just that his statistics at Fulham were exceptional: number of runs; players beaten in runs; ball retention; tackles won; passes completed, etc. That is the player I want to see week in and week out at White Hart Lane (whatever role he eventually settles into).

When he joined us he picked up an injury and this slowed down his integration into the team. I haven't seen him have a bad game yet and he has showed glimpses of how good he can be. I am only disappointed that I haven't seen him really firing on all cylinders yet. Against United he had a solid game (with a couple of magic moments, such as the one you mentioned) but the stars were Parker (despite his limitations as a player) and Lennon. I want to see Dembele starting to rack up the 'man of the match' awards.

For what its worth, after half a season I was equally underwhelmed both by Berbatov and Modric. They quickly came good and that is what I hope and expect of Dembele.
KM

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Also dembele will be playing a slightly different role to that at fulham with better players around him he probably doesn't feel the same onus to run with the ball etc as he did when playing at fulham.

he looks real class from what I have seen of him in fact he is probably the reason we won't sign another mid fielder with holtby coming in as well I really think we need a striker not a midfielder as we have cover enough in there.

Some reports on twitter saying that Defoe is injured! I don't know if there is any truth in it or not. If it is the case at least we don't have a league game this weekend, I'd love to see coulibaly (spelling) a chance as he will be a very big future star for spurs!
