". . Joe Lewis isn't willing to invest anymore into the club. . . ."

"Joe Lewis isa . . .money grabbing B*****d. ."

In business, as in life, there are the flagrant exhibitionists with their blingtastic, often superficial ways of displaying their status. Then there are the more considered, thoughtful, strategic players at the same table; people who can shake the tree but do so without show and drama, often with whispers.

This is a metaphor to explain to you that just because a Billionaire doesn't act like a schoolkid in the playground with a loaded gun (or in this case a giant vulgar wad of cash), he isn't necessarily a tight Billionaire. A golden rule in not even particularly intelligent business circles is supply and demand. IF your supplier thinks you have s**t loads of cash, his price goes up. IF your manager walks around saying he'd 'f**king love to sign" that world class player, the price goes up further. Now your average oil drenched Prince of Persia doesn't care, money has no intrinsic value to him, so its sloshed around for fun, amusement. Every player he buys is triple what they're really worth. Because they break those cardinal rules. Wenger on the other hand, has created and perpetuated the myth that Arsenal have no money for £35mil marque signings. So Arsenal pay fairly normal prices for players that Man City and Chelsea would get raped for.

So you tell me, is this age old economic golden rule such a stupid stance to adopt given this is, as you pointed out, such an unstable footballing financial world?

You know Joe Lewis just bought a 12 million pound house in the Bahamas and a Bahamas Softball team which he has just fork 100's of millions on a new stadium.

Im sorry but he just doesn't care about the club any more and last January proves that and i don't want the club to be sold to a billionaire UEA Prince cause that's not Tottenham

i think Eto'o looks the best he would work perfectly with VDV and the two quick wingers we just one problem though i can't see us signing any one of Eto'o stature at the moment.

from what ive heard from Spurs fans, Newspapers and Radio stations that Joe Lewis isn't willing to invest anymore into the club. It looks as though the club will be sold in the next season or two so that's why im concerned about this season as if we do really poorly like mid table or Uefa cup again we could be losing a lot of our players.

we can't afford anyone at the moment and i know you lot will disagree with me but we put in a £9m bid for Hernandez of Parlemo who is a £18-25m player and that became our final bid as if we hoped we would get him, we also turned down Suarez last season because Harry said ''He isn't good enough''. Harry was lying we just couldn't afford him.

You lot will be saying now hold on this is a load of rubbish we tried to sign Agureo last Jan for £35m. Levy did it as a publicity stunt to try and convince the fans that we still have money. we knew it would be rejected as his buy-out clause was £10m more than that.

Don't blame Levy or Harry they can't do anything about it. Joe Lewis on the other hand is a money grabbing B*****d and is looking to profit from the club when he bought it in 2004. He owns way more than Spurs and could put 100's of millions in the club for a season but no he wants to sell us.

you may be think hooray UAE Billions but trust me on this the Pompey and Leeds Owners did exactly the same thing thinking we could make a profit because we have been successful they ended up selling to people who had monumental debts who think that they could get a big profit from owning a big club on the up but misjudging it Pompy, Fa Cup winners and contenders for europe, Leeds, in the Champions League consistently, now look where they are.

that's why i don't think we signed any top names at this point in time and that's why im worrying for our club.

Mauro Zarate?
I know i've said this about alot of players but this Argentine is genuinely pure quality.
Harry suggests we need 3 class signings to move us foward as a club. Well after some careful consideration of what type of players we need, i have finally found my 3 signings that would in my opinion improve us.

1) Mauro Zarate
2) Fernando Gago
3) Neven Subotic

Every spurs fan including Ed, reply to this comment and pick your 3. (does not include Leandro)

Azza

Would like to see:

1) Eto
2) Cahill
3) Bains {Ed002's Note - Sorry, I don't do fantasy football.}

HAHA funny ed!
unfortunately computers don't make stuff sound sarcastic. Just cause we are showing a little ambition doesn't mean you can be a P***k and make a smart ass comment about our club. you can f**k off Ed002 and let Ed008 comment on spurs stuff in future

{Ed008's Note - Anymore abusive comments like that and you will find yourself banned.

1) Hazard
2) Ganso
3) Cahill or a top CB
these are more likely than aguero and rossi tbh.

Agree1 Disagree2

You know Mauro Zarate punched a Ref and also he did a fascist salute while watching Lazio lose to Bari, although his agent claimed afterwards that the player "did not realise the significance of his gesture" and did not know who Adolf Hitler or Benito Mussolini were'' not looking great at the moment but ill take your word for it

One apt word for you Spurs: deluded. You suffer from delusions of grandeur. Get outta cloud-cuckoo land, NOW.
I mean, for f***'s sake! if your own star player Modric wants out (to a "bigger" team) as all he sees at your club is a deep, black, infinite whole, why the hell would other players of his calibre jump at the chance to join your club?

(On this and other sites) These players you link yourselves with and even believe you've a chance of getting:

Subotic, Sakho, Mata, Martinez, Eriksen, Ganso, Benzema, Rossi, Barrios, Llorente, Lukaku, Aguero, Hazard, Hulk, Lamela, Sneidjer etc.
These are all world class who'll have really top, top regular Champions League teams to pick from.

Barcelona, Real, Milan, Inter, Bayern, Chelsea, Arsenal, United.
Even those that won't have CL next season such as Juventus and Liverpool will be in for some of those players and those clubs are a far bigger draw than your club.

Spurs are midgets. History-wise, revenues-wise and potential-success.
That's a fact. Whether you care or you don't care.
A fact your want-away star Modric was all too eager to state.

You think things like "we gonna be building a new, bigger stadium soon" and "our club is well run". . you think such things are going to sway top players?

You think Rossi (a young, brilliant player about to enter the peak of his career) to a 1)relatively nonentity of a club playing in a small, wreckage of stadium, 2) pays meagre wages, 3) can't compete for players with (but will play second-fiddle to) AFC, LFC, CFC, MCF and MUFC and have a tactically and technically clueless manager who has an intelligence of a flea and whose track record render Roy Hodgson the best football in the whole known world?

Rossi/the like wasting the best years of his career? For what? A stadium that may never even be built?
Lol!
Don't make me laugh.
Your team hasn't any special propositions to offer.

Your being in the CL this year and the stupidity you displaced in January running, randomly bidding for players seems to have put you in some sort of pedestal, well at least in you over-active and wet imaginations.

You only got into the CL because LFC had a woeful, nightmare of a season and Mancini's foolishness, which cost City dearly and nearly did again last season.
As for the January folly, that said more about your club's lack of any strategic organised approach to scouting and player recruitment than your finances.

The only you succeeded in doing was make right cretins of yourselves.
You don't care? Well, you better.
Only person I feel for here is the chairman.

Out there there delusional fans completely dumb to reality who want and expect the club to buy a "couple of marquees". Come September 1st when none of the "couple of marquees" have arrived, as any non-idiot would expect, these fans will spit fire, enraged at poor Daniel Levy for "not showing ambition". Smh.

They forget that Spurs' ambition can stretch only as far as Damaio, Hoaroa; damaged goods such der Vaart, Drogba, Gallas and a few prospects like Benadj.

Good lord! Modric wants out, he WANTS OUT. . and will in all likelihood GET OUT. If things were so rosy and the road ahead full of daisies, why the hell would your star player be wanting out?

Reality Remains Suspended At t**tenham.

Lieutenant Colonel Kay

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Pseud boy is racking his brain again. You always seem to point out our stadium being a wreck when, currently, there's an odd thousand difference in capacity. And talking about supposed 'world class players', we (unfortunately) decided to not pursue Suarez as we didn't think he was good enough, regardless of strong hints'/ agent indications. Your history is redundant in a dynamic world and market like football; stop using this as the crux of your f***in' argument. Fundamentally, we are currently a better footballing side. Modric statement iminent to clarify future WITH the club (The Independent), yet Mereiles is probably leaving you Inter; incidently, your most consistent player. COYS

As posted many days ago before the £22m Chelski Offer, Modric will be joining Chelski for £33m + Drogba.

Scotty Parker will also sign for £8m with a Stadium U-Turn agreement. West Ham cannot now afford the Olympic Stadium and will use the funds to renovate their beloved Upton 'The Dump' Park.

realistic line up and transfers for next season

Gomes

Capdevila Hangeland Dawson Arbeloa
Bale Modric Sandro/Huddlestone Lennon
VDV
Falcao

our main weakness IMO is our fullback positions and the lack of a goal scoring striker but if we do manage this Eto'o signing then there will be no reason we can't break back into the top 4 next season

Believable0 Unbelievable4

How do's the song go?(all together now).dream, dream, dream, dreeeeeeam, spuds guvnr, ur a beut! are you a stand up comedian? oh yeah, your not! ur a pro womens footballer now, your 3 year deal is all over sky sports news.

Azza, i would take subotic out of your 3. Zarate can be quality but i think there are better than him eg lavezzi. Are they the 3 you would choose out of everyone?
I would go for subotic, hazard and rossi.
We are looking at the latter two.

Spurs guvnor

****************

Guv, yea they are the 3 i would choose, we have been strongly linked with Zarate recently who i rate as a player. Your right though, Lavezzi is better and would be an amazing buy. They are both simular in ways.
If we can sign rossi and hazard that would be amazing. Rossi's movement is what we are missing and Hazard is a player many rate highly. The only thing with Hazard is he would prefer to move to one of the big boys in spain. Could see Madrid snapping him up.
Good choices though. I would be extremely happy if your 3 come through.

I could maybe change Gago for someone like Ganso but that's my final 3. Zarate, Ganso, Subotic.
