Lots of positives came out from th hearts game.
Jake looked sharp
Defoe loooks back in touch 2 assists and a goal
VDV was excellent as always
Niko was awesome at cm
Hudd looked fit and played like he did before his injury
Younes and daws were soild and BaE and kyle were excellent

So for the utd game I expect this team:
Gomes
Kyle daws younes BAE
azza niko hudd/jake/modders Bale
vdv
defoe
Expect Ade to be on the bench and come on.
Expecting a win cos utd are without vidic and rio. De gea looks crap and long shots from huud/modders, niko and vdv could cause him problems. Bale can kill smalling on the left. Anderson and carick will lose the midfield battle and we will dominate.

I hope your right but Man U are Man U. they could field reserves and still be a force, dont know how they do it but they do

Anybody would think that we had turned over Barcelona Ok, we played some lovely football, thanks to the generosity of a team so poor they would struggle in our lowest division. Lets face it, Hearts were atrocious Reality time, NO team in the Premiership will be as bad as that this season.
Lets have a sense of proportion, eh?

From Hearts away to Man U away....hmmm not much difference. How long since we won in the league at O.T ? Main poster, please dont get carried away.

Agree3 Disagree1

To the question above - A generation ago..... It's 22 years since Spurs last won at Old Trafford - a 1-0 victory in December 1989 courtesy of a Gary Lineker goal. We have come close since and robbed more than once. Pedro Mendes's disallowed goal in 2005 is the obvious on that comes to mind.

Hope this helps.

If you score another 5 against hearts do you get to keep them .. hope glasgow rangers get through and get spurs in the group wouldnt mind a wee trip down to london . good luck for the season ..bigt rangers /spurs fan {Ed008's Note - That's respect for you good luck aswell.

"If you score another 5 do you get to keep them"? Priceless. No wonder Glasgow is renowned for it's great sense of humour. Please post again - you should set up your own site. And what does it say about your team that you drew 1-1 with us on the opening day of the season at Ibrox and we should have won? Just worry about your own European record rather than fixating on Hearts' performances. I believe Rangers have now won 1 in their last 24 European games and with a salary bill no doubt 5 times that of Hearts'.
Sorry to bore Spurs fans with this. But we get saturated with Rangers and Celtic in Scotland. And when Hearts get Spurs in Europe - somehow it still ends up about Rangers with guys like this posting about a game that had nothing to do with his team. I'm almost boring myself by replying.

Good for you Hearts Is that right, one win in 24 European games?...jesus. Thats a joke.

Poor show from Spurs, even Hibs managed to get 7.

5 goals and an impressive performance (especially first half) in the first game of our season, top drawer.

If you ever get into europe we'd be happy to batter you round the park too

Pleasure to see you guys in action last night. Wow. I knew there was a gulf, but....
Still expecting a big support down to WHL to finish off our 'education' and have a sing song.
I'm sure Dave Mackay (the man, the legend) would still have enjoyed last night but as a dyed in the wool Jambo might have enjoyed a more even contest.

Hearts.

Thanks mate, yes it was a bit one-sided. Good to see one of my all time Spurs Legends Dave Mackay. Wow, now he WAS a player Good luck for the rest of the season.

I'm glad to see a bit of civiliztion about spurs and hearts. We are a team to deserve to fight for trophies not like Chelsea and man city.... Spurs arsenal Liverpool for top 4.

Come on you spurs

Thanks.

Head still spinning at VDV, Defoe, etc.

I was thinking that it must have been a real reality check for some of our younger players with aspirations of playing in the EPL, like Templeton and Driver who looked like they were towing caravans against the Spurs full backs.

Anyway - good luck to you guys for the season ahead. It does leave me thinking how good must a team like Man U be that end the season 10-20 points ahead of you?

Hearts.

Well i think WE will be back down to Earth come Monday night Think Harry will put the fringe players out for Hearts at WHL.

People may disagree but personally i wouldnt be that bothered if we did sell modric, vdv can play that role even better than modric can as vdv score goals, also its vdv naturall postion, so personally if we got 30mill plus sturridge i would be very happy as sturridge is a quality up and coming striker, also now that chelsea have signed lukaku, sturridge will be futher down the pecking order, i know AVB said sturridge is in his plans but cleraly not as he warmed the bench for the stoke game ''/. so if we did sell modric i would like to see our team like this

gomes
walker - dawson - kaboul - BAE
lennon - niko - VDV - bale
adebayor - sturridge/defoe

we always did and always do score more goals playing 442. Also would be happy to see samba and maybe parker come in good cover for VDV, can play in cup matches and can come on from bench and at around 6mill not a bad buy in my opinion

Believable3 Unbelievable3

First off, studge has a suspension from last season, which is why he wasn't even on the bench. also vdv doesn't have the positinal discipline to play in cm, and thirdly, that is an awfully attacking team, you'd need a more defensive cm like hudd or sandro

Agree0 Disagree0

First of it dosent matter if sturridge has a ban they have just signed lukaku pushing his further down the order, AVB has said he dosent want to sell anelka and drogba so thats why they should offer sturridge in the modric deal. Secondly have you seen modric play ? he is exactly the same as vdv all over the field so vdv could play his postion easily, and thirdly why is that a horrible attacking side?, thats our best attacking side nikos passing will put the strikers in and will play in lennon and bale more into the game therefore creating alot more attacking option, just like he did in the hearts game. (which you porbably didnt watch). Then vdv will create plays further up the field, so this is a great attacking team and will kill of the worse teams in our league which we normally dont do, like last season getting draws against west brom home and away, just not good enough dont see man united getting results like this. So therefore playing this attackive side will results in more chance of easily beating the lower level teams like the top teams in our league do, but i agree with you with playing a defensive cm but only in the games such as away to top 5 then play a more defensive team to keep it tight

Agree1 Disagree0

Sory, i think you misunderstood, because i'm posh i meant the word 'awfully' as in a very attacking side, not that the team was awful :). fair point about lukaku and studge tho

Agree1 Disagree0

Oryt fair enough i didnt read your reply with full concentration but i thought you meant awful ''/ and yer hopefully they do offer sturridge would be great :)
