Sale modric he in my opinion is one of the worlds most over rated players. so lets cash in and get three or four good players. getting used to possible AVB and likeing the idea. really looking forward to next season should be very exciting.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Why would clubs from all over the world be offering him tons of money for his signature if he was overrated. are you just rating him on assists and goals? because there is more about footy then assists and goals. he does so much on and off the ball. he is always avalible for a pass, a perfect CM in my mind. i wouldnt call him a CAM at all.

Agree1 Disagree0

Modric is def not overrated the only people i know who say that are gooners we should hold out for 40m for him or make sure we get cash and a player for him maybe try and get ade and adam johnson by selling him to city

Turns out Venables was the one to get Villa-Boas into coaching during his time at Barca, referred to AVB at the time as a "beach bum", and pushed him towards doing something useful..
another little connection for people to ponder..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Total tosh

Venables was at Barca 1984-1987 . AVB was born in October 1977 in Portugal so when Venables left Barc AVB, living in Portugal was 10 years old !1

Agree1 Disagree0

Apologies, my mistake, was Bobby Robson who said it..
the only other english manager at Barca recently..

Agree0 Disagree0

Nearly there it was when Sir Bobby was manager at Porto and he and AVBs family lived in the same appartment block

Does anyone else think there is something funny going on at spurs? We delist from the stock exchange 6 months ago saying it will help finance the new stadium...however this clearly makes no sense as your taking a potential source of finance away from the club.

Next we let Harry go for a large settlement, with no immediate replacement. Another strange decision.

Then you look at what Harry said "The club wanted change" and "CL wouldn't have made a difference" also both odd thing, as the club was finding the best spell we have had in years, and why would CL not have made a difference? You'd fire the manager of a CL side for doing what you set him out to do at the start of the season?

The only way I can see these decisions making any sense are if Lewis and Levy are lining up the sale of the club. Thats the only way I can explain all the above. Don't know to who, but it does seem to be the only thing to make sense of all this.

Thoughts? (ed?)

Steed {Ed001's Note - that is my thinking too, AEG have certainly shown interest in the past year, I am sure there are others who would be interested.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Makes some sense. But wasn't there some kind of legislation that meant we had to delist to be able to get government funding?

Also I think it's possible that given the court case, England fiasco and everything else, Levy had prepared for change and just ended up sticking to the original plan.

Time will tell.

There definitely has to be something going on besides footballing reasons I think.

Don't you lot just sometimes wish you were born gooners?

Tottenham will NEVER be considered as a ''big'' club. Never.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

More bitterness and Jealousy from other clubs as we are linked with big stars.

Why to watch a club fall in stature to cling onto memories whilst watching the once weaker clubs catch up and to rely on dodgy goal keeping to get a champs lge place hmmmm I think I will pass

The table doesn t lie we wern't great you were even worse,i think te league is over more than e game

Agree0 Disagree0

Once rvp leaves you to will be a big club same as last season loads empty seat, before you start gloating 1 point led you to third look back over history and see who one first domestic double this century, first team in england to land a europeand cup, you needed one of our rejects to score in the cl final, and you still coudent win. u winging b.....ds

Agree0 Disagree1

Spurs are a big club with there success and style. They changed the way the game was played back in the late 50s and early 60s, why do think they've always had a following abroad and always supported by Dutch players including Bergkamp.

Spurs need Guardiola. Pep's the next step up for Spurs. There is no other Manager available that could be considered to be 'the next step forward'. Jol took us forward, Ramos took us backwards, Redknapp took us forward. Lets keep the momentum going forward. Pep can provide the impetus needed to either keep certain players or attract quality players Tottenham would otherwise not attract, having failed to acheive CL qualification. Pep is young and his players feel very good about playing under his guidance. As a tactician I'm not sure but despite having some of the most brilliant footballer's at Barcelona the players played as a team and he seemed to get the best out of them.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Guardiola would not go to a sad pathetic little club like you who do you spuds think you are,i bet pep hasent even heard of tottenham you deluded bunch.Pep will go to either us or man u in 12 months time. Gun smoke

Agree2 Disagree4

So why would he come to Spurs? There is no way that his wage would be affordable and the reality is he will have his pick of clubs.
Levys dilema is who is avilable at a cost they can afford, has a proven track record and fancies working with a small, if any at all, transfer budget

Agree1 Disagree0

^ always one gooner see you next Tuesday on ....

Agree0 Disagree1

Your the sad one for posting on are page way do you feel the need to come on the spurs page ? Because you love the mighty spurs.

Agree1 Disagree1

Oi gooner....I've got a laugh for ya...
On one of your boring gooner sites, I read, in all seriousness, that you should swap song for either iniesta or sneider.
Now you have the cheek to come on here and ridicule us.
That was one of the funniest thing I'd read in ages and your person gooner buddy was serious.
Tell you wot, you sign them and we will sign mourinho and messi

Agree1 Disagree1

Everyone wants pep no matter what the club & I'd b surprised if levy hasn't at least enquired but he has enrolled his kids in a school in the states so he's not available this yr. I don't think money would be a problem if pep was available he has talked about his next job been a project & the clubs his methods would have a quicker implementation would b spurs, Arsenal & city it would take longer with other clubs.
But if It's the barca method thats wanted all levy would have to do is hire Luis Enrique as a technical director/coach not much difference to what pep would do on training ground & he's available.

Heres a real wake up call for Spurs fans who feel a little smug about the number of managers Chelsea have had in the Abromivich era.

Since RA purchased Chelsea , including care taker managers, they have had 9 managers one of which was Ray Wilkins and he was manager for only the one game

During the same period Spurs have had 7 managers.
Of couse Chelsea stand out but my guess is that a clse 2nd in terms of sacking managers come Spurs.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Jeez did you decide to post that between watching paint dry and train spotting? What a boring pointless post that was!
KB

Agree2 Disagree1

Its called a reality check

Agree2 Disagree1

I need a wake up call now. That post just sent me to sleep.

Agree3 Disagree1

These chavski fans really need to get out more.

Agree2 Disagree2

Been out plenty,
CL finals FA cup finals

Agree4 Disagree1

Chelsea have won 10 major trophies since abramovich has been there it's made no difference getting rid of managers to there success remarkable i say. TOMTHFC..

Agree1 Disagree0

The only way Chelski fans can try and compensate for a 6th place finish is to pick fault with those that finish above and try to make comparisons to make themselves feel slightly better.

Almost like gooners. If they don't get their own way they resort to child like playground behaviour and if they do then they like to brag that there kings of the world or kings of London

Go back to your boring football Chelski. No one likes watching a 11 man squad kick the ball up against a wall and no one wants to watch an 11 man squad kick the ball against a parked bus.

Agree0 Disagree0

European champion's my friend and a small matter of being fa cup winners as well chelsea all the way my friends. CHELSEA BLUEBOY.

Agree3 Disagree1

Ironic or what the team that first were tagged with parking the bus were Spurs
Also lets look at the stats in the league Spurs scored only one more goal than Chelsea in the FA cup however and excuding the final both Chelsea and Spurs played the same number of games (including replays) Chelsea scored 18 spurs scored 11
Yes Chelsea finished 6th last season and yes they finished behind Spurs but get real that was the first time they finished behind Spurs since 1995/6 and it really didnt reap any benefits to you did it

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't believe it, they are deluded.
They really think they actually WON the CL .
The game reminded me of the man utd v bayern.. They were battered and knicked it.
Talk about getting to big for your boots.
They spend all season hiding away.
They knick a final and now all the chavski shirts are everywhere.
You will always be armchair and good time fans.
See you next season when you again knick a result and start chirping again

Sad, very sad little russki team

Agree3 Disagree2

Hope you get our failed useless reject of a manager avb you deserve each other spuds both you and boas are losers and always will be, chelsea are the european champions spuds get use to it we won it fair and squareyou envious fools that you are, CHELSEA TILL DIE.

Agree3 Disagree0

U might well compare amount of managerz, my dads bigger than your dad crap, but in the comparing stakes, how much did your managers spend compared to ours, bloody hell amount of money you have spend over last few years, you could have had your own league. get real money talks

Agree0 Disagree1

Cost a lot of money does sucess in football these days wont argue about that.
Simple thing is that RA owns the club and wil dig dip. Isnt that what all rich owners do?
Well unless those rich owners are in it for profi!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, if AVB a reject, then do is ancelloti, so is mourinho.

16 Jun 2012 07:28:48
Where do you think we will finish in the league next season?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

If you keep Bale and Modric and get a good attacking manager then fourth is easily achievable with your team, sell either of these then lucky if you get eighth.

Cant see what the hype is with AVB as I dont think he is the one for you guys, I would put in an offer for O Neil from Sunderland, he would jump at the chance to manage such a big club and he is top drawer.

Bale and Lennon on the wings and on form, great football

Degsybluenose

Agree2 Disagree1

I'm so going to be slated for this. I believe we will get 3rd (and above Arsenal)............... Now let the slaughtering begin!!

100% behind spurs and 100% keeping the faith.

The Rabbit

Agree5 Disagree3

Midtable 7th ..new manager poss backroom staff replaced thats not including player coming and going ..some players may want to leave but will be told no or priced out off the market leaving unhappy players disrupting the team
s1 like avb may struggle with that

Agree3 Disagree2

5th at worst.
KB

Agree1 Disagree3

You will finish 9th at best after most of your good players have gone, fact. chelseaboyforever.

Agree4 Disagree2

Think we'll get off to a rough start and then come good towards the finish. Possibly 8th-10th around Xmas then finish around 5th

Agree1 Disagree1

At our worst above Liverpool .... At our best aroundabout par with arsenal

Agree3 Disagree1

Chelseaboyforever who has gone exactly?

Agree0 Disagree3

Just a matter of time spuds before bale modric vdv walker etc jump ship it will happen your just a mediocre prem club spuds who won't be playin champs league again unlike the ucl winners chelsea, it's a fact spuds i'm sorry to say. CHELSEA BLUEBOY.

Agree5 Disagree0

O'neill a great manager?
im still laughing at that one.
as for chelsea, appointing rdm is a seriously bad decision

Agree1 Disagree1

Chelski fans make me laugh. They were nothing but a mediocre team with no history before the Russian opened his cheque book. They start bragging about how great they are but truth is if Abramovich left tomorrow they couldn't afford to keep most of their players, their club history would be a distant dream and they'd be back to mid table football as they were before.

You haven't won anything you've bought it. You play boring football, are out classed week in and week out yet if the teams not working there's no improving or encouraging the players to improve as most clubs have to because the Russian just throws more money around and buys it.

Agree2 Disagree3

RDM is quality has any of your managers ever won the european cup no they have not and never will rottenham your club is on the way down my frends hope that muppet AVB becomes your new boss your made for each other spuds. CHELSEABLUEBOY

Morning Yids, Hearing this morning from Newspaper sources that Tim Sherwood is looking to be promoted to DOF and AVB will come in as Manager. Thoughts??

Believable1 Unbelievable0

If this is true then I am proved right for the first time on my thoughts (about him getting a promotion due to Harry going). Sherwood is well respected in Spurs and being trained to be a future Spurs manager.

As it seems likely Avb has the job secured its well known daniel levy would like to revert back to a manager with a dof involved. now not a rumour of any sort but i for one think louis van gaal would suit the role perfectly with avb. An experienced manager and old head just to help guide the relatively inexperienced avb. Any thoughts, i think im right in thinking lvg is out of a job at the moment.

I had to laugh at spurs supporter on ssn when asked who he wants as next manager, he said David moyes he thinks spurs r a bigger club why a joke. He ain't going anywhere loyalty is not something you see much in football but he been with us for 10 yrs and building a team unfortunately he has needed to sell at times but we still finished the season well so onwards and upwards for us. But spurs have got to keep hold of bale vdv etc. I not coming on here slagging your team off but your team is on a par in stature as everton Aston villa also man city or are they a big club now just because they got money.

IMWT
Rgscouse

Believable2 Unbelievable6

We have players more money and have finished higher than you for years ( bigger club ).

Agree4 Disagree1

So by that definition Chelsea are a much bigger club than Spurs

Agree2 Disagree2

And arsenal

Agree2 Disagree2

No that s your defination. I m realistic in all this Arsenal are the biggest London club

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal have earned the right to take the piss ..... Chelsea and man city have bought the right therefore dont actually listen to when they slate us as enough said really

Agree3 Disagree1

Biggest and best by a mile in london is chelsea most successful by far over recent history face facts you jokers cos its true. tonyqprfcforever
