I'm struggling to understand.
Po had a great season at the saints yet most of there stand out players have jogged on to Liverpool.
Also can someone tell me what baldini does/ or is doing.
He must be the luckiest person at the club.
Since he has come in we have see 3 managers.
Please get rid of him and use the money on boosting salaries for new signings.
The man is a joke!!!

I think what we Spurs forget is the mediocrity of the late 90s and the early 2000s! Always a few banner signings coming towards the end of their careers such as Klinsman, Ginola etc but never a squad to compete! Think Gary Doherty, Darren Bent etc and know that they wouldn't get within a mile of our current squad! I'm as frustrated as the next Spurs fan with stalling last season but with the new stadium finally being approved and a Chairman who let's be honest has overseen our best periods for many many years I'm positive for the future of the mighty Spurs!

Dnt need to go too far back. were the below not good enough?
Bale, modric, berba, carrick, .
Never in my eyes got replaced in a sense of what these players brought to the lane! Quality footballers, easy on the eye, made football look easy.
Maybe we have been spoilt over the last 20 years.
Yes we won't win the league or qualify for cl. I can actually except that it's in my d and a of being a spurs supporter BUT the minute bale left there is not one player in our squad that can win us a game or even have me sitting at the edge of my seat! That is what I can't get. We are traditionally known to have at least 1 silky player playing Tottenham football but that was taken away by DL. Once that is taken away them I want 11 players fighting for the shirt and winning somthing if the football is not going to be easy on the eye.
I think that is why so many spurs fans wants to see Lamella do well.
Lamella be our hero son and light up whl.

Since I summarised the revenue data of the top 6 clubs, I have been mulling over its significance. One issue particularly bothers me.

We are all conscious of the distorting effect of mega-rich Sugar Daddies pouring money into clubs like Chelsea, Man City and PSG. The FFP rules were partly intended to address this problem. But who is considering the impact of these massive commercial deals?

For example, the Addidas deal is worth as much as the total revenue of nearly half the clubs in the Premiership.

To put that into a Spurs perspective: It will generate at least as much additional revenue each year as our proposed new stadium. But building a new stadium will cost us £500m, and will involve a significant financial risk, while the Addidas deal was risk-free and virtually cost-free.

Similarly, the fantasy money thrown at Man City by Sheik Mansour's family and friends has largely cleared the club's massive debt and ensured they meet the FFP rules. It has also made City the 3rd biggest club in England.

Money talks, but there has always been an opportunity for clubs to break into the top four by good management. That is what we have done on a couple of occasions and what Everton nearly did last season.

However, we must be wary about trying to compete with clubs out of our financial league by offering unwise transfer fees and wages.

I will post about this separately.

{Ed002's Note - Please don't. It is clear you don't understand what provisions have been made and the cap that continues to be discussed.}

Agreed - Please don't KM.

Football is unlike any other business when it comes to finance, Players being sold for undisclosed fee’s, players being sent out on loan, We / You are paying ½ the wages & all that nonsense, do we really know what these clubs make on revenue, they may pay cash bonuses for goals scored, bonuses for clean sheets – who honestly really does know the full ins & outs of a football business.

As for Man City & Chelsea - If the Sheiks & Mr. Abramovich want to clear the debt then they can, It’s their business, they own all the assets within the club.

We are hardly going to see UEFA tell Real Madrid, Man UTD, Barcelona they can’t spend any money, they will just find another way & to be fair its these teams that everyone wants to see., or come away from UEFA & start their own super league.

Why is it such a struggle for us to sell and sign people eds? Poch must have had an idea who he wanted and who he wants to get rid of! All the big clubs have have signed players bar us? Is this levy and baldini trying to be too clever with money(we all seen how that went last time) or is poch just giving everybody a chance in pre season?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Wouldn't you rather Pochettino saw what he has available before deciding what he needs? A lot of Spurs 'failures' from last season could easily find a new lease of life under Pochettino so he's better off assessing everything before taking the plunge and buying.}

That's true but even Louis van Gaal has signed two players (and is closing in on Vidal) and he's a new manager. So why does it take us so bolo in long as usual?

I don't think there is any question we need a LB and CB. On the one hand the utter Silence about Spurs transfers has been refreshing this Summer; however, we are getting to the point in the Summer where I begin to worry that we will be depending on Levy-time and picking some questionable dregs leftover rather than securing a proper replacement.

Surely Poch already knows what each player can do or can't do.

I'm sure mopo has an idea but with so many players playing well below standard last year he is no doubt trying to work out if it was a 1 off or if they need replacing. As for United, it's obvious the team needs work it's not a case of players under performing like it is with us.
