I dont know about you but has anyone got a feeling that levy has made a bad decision this evening. Harry has made us into one of the most exciting teams in the PL and picked us up when we were down and out. Dont get me wrong there have been certain situations that i havent agreed with Harry but i just dont see where Levy wants the club to go.

On another note do you think a possible transfer deal done behind HR's back has caused him to leave?

For those who are happy a word of caution be carefull what you wish for, the grass ain't always greener! I have mixed feelings personally, on one hand i'm not his biggest fan - he's got to much to say and has never admitted to making a mistake in the 4 years he's been in charge but he has undoubtedly done a very good job!

I don't know about what's going to happen at spurs. I'm firmly in the Harry for spurs camp. But one thing I think all us yods are crying out for is an update of ANY description. Some kind of indication as to where our beloved clubs going.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jun 2012 21:18:34
Unless we make some serious signings we make have lost our chance to overtake Arsenal. They're making some good signings and all we're getting is our best players being linked away. If Redknapp put us first we'd have been 3rd and in the champions league signing top players and keeping people like modric, bale and van der vaart happy. Unless we sort ourselves out I can see us falling behind Chelsea and Liverpool.

Watching the Germany / Holland game, what about Spurs try for Mario Gomez, he is calm and pure quality on the ball. Anyone know how much he might cost and what his wages are? 56 appearances and 42 goals for his club this season.

Anyway just a thought!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Without Harry we would not be what you all consider a 'champions league club' As sad as I am to say it, we are not a top four club. We have got lucky over recent years, with good scouts to sign us players such as Modric, VDV, Bale and Walker so cheaply. Unfortunately our short lived fortune is coming to an end. Get over it lads, and stop blaming Harry

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Do one gooner, think about your own problem i.e. RVp and champs league, you blamed Wenger didn't you? And lucky with good scouts? thats not luck to get them its called 'Scouting'.

Just putting it out there. HR is saying definitively he has not resigned. Other reports saying he is going. Putting 2 and 2 together one could suggest he's been sacked, both statements would be correct. The comments by HR would suggest he is marketing himself in the open for a new position at another club, he's worth more, wants 3 years, has years left in him, please come and get him.

Auspur

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I doubt if Harry has actually been sacked yet, but he probably knows it is under active consideration, so his stance is "back me or sack me". Backing him means giving him a new three-year contract. Sacking him means paying him the balance of his current contract.

What Harry probably wants to avoid is having to choose between running down his contract or resigning.

Levy would probably like to play hard ball and force Harry to make that decision, but the risk is that Harry would decide to stick it out. Then Levy would be saddled with a 'lame duck' manager for an entire season.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when the two men meet to thrash this out.

Putting 2 and 2 together one could suggest it's the same old media bull5hit.

Well it seems a little logic does come in useful. Harry's message is loud and clear now following events. I suspect the contract speculation was a parting gift from spurs so Harry has a chance of a quicker post. Wish him all the best, despite his faults his done well with the team. For what it's worth I see modric

13 Jun 2012 09:24:39
OK guys, I put a post on earlier this week hoping that Redknapp would not be sacked and agreed with the comments about keeping him. I work with someone who has just walked in the office and told me and a couple of other Spurs fans that her brother in law works at Spurs and that HR is being pushed out by stalling the contract talks. She says its going to be AVB that Levy wants to take over as he likes his style of play and does what he is told with the media. If this does happen I wont be impressed with the board because the only reason we have got to where we have got is because of Harry. Saying that could AVB become good in the premiership without the pressures of the Chelsea board? What do you think peeps?

I still don't understand why a section of our supporters are calling for Harry's head when quite literally ALL our players have spoken about how important he is to them as individuals and to club. Without him we can say goodbye too bale, modders, vdv and it'll hinder the chances of players coming in. Remy has already stated he's waiting too see if HR will be at spurs next season, and maybe vertonghens doing the same (let's be honest it has gone quite recently) and I'm pretty sure Ade won't take a pay cut if it's not redknapp he's playing for. We NEED redknapp.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Harry is not the Messiah, but neither is he the 'tactically inept loud mouth' that some Spurs fans have called him in recent weeks. On the whole, I want him to stay, but the club will survive if he does go.

Harry obviously has the support of some big names at the club, but we also have to remember the large number of players that are clearly ready to leave if the right offers come in from the right clubs:

Kranjcar (gone)
Pavlyuchenko (gone)
Corluka (loaned out)
Bentley (loaned out until injured)
Pienaar (loaned out)
Jenus (loaned out)
Bassong (loaned out)
Naughton (loaned out)
Caulker (loaned out)
Gomes (dropped to 3rd choice)
Giovani (wants more action)
Defoe (wants more action)
Livermore (wants more action)
Modric (wants Champions League)
Bale (wants Champions League)
Van Der Vaart (keeping his options open)

If all these players departed this summer it would leave an incredibly small squad of about 12 proven players, plus some untried fringe players. This 12 would include Friedel, Cudicini and Gallas, who are veterans at the end of their careers, King who might have to retire at any time and Huddlestone, who hasn't kicked a ball for a year and doesn't seem to be training yet (I might be wrong on that).

Of course, the club could not allow all these players to go (or even all the ones that are no longer 1st choice in their positions) because it would be a huge risk to try to rebuild the whole squad in one transfer window. I only mention this because I think it raises two interesting issues.

Firstly, whoever is in charge next season has some big man management issues to deal with.

Secondly, it highlights a weakness at Spurs that might help explain what went wrong last season. Our best team could battle it out, toe-to-toe with any club, but there was quite a big gap between our best eleven and the rest.

When we played weakened teams in the Cups, we were often woeful. As a result, Harry only really had one team he could pick for the key games. If he varied it for any reason (tactics, injuries; to rest players, or just to keep fringe players involved,) we were no longer a team that looked capable of taking on the best.

When I look at the players I have listed above, I suspect that most Spurs fans would not shed too many tears at the departure of at least 9 of them (Kranjcar, Pavlyuchenko, Gomes, Corluka, Bassong, Bentley, Pienaar, Jenus and Giovani).

If the 'tactically inept loud mouth' didn't pick them it was because his judgement was the same as that of many fans: they are (mostly) good players, but not quite good enough to realise our current ambitions.

I suppose that what I am saying is that I basically agree with Rosco. There is likely to enough turmoil this summer without the additional problem of bedding in a new manager. If it does come to that, then AVB's record at Chelsea does not suggest he is the man to deal with all those disgruntled players.

Whilst agreing with many points modric, bale, were their before harry came in. vdv was a levy signing, harry signed the likes of pieneer, saha, nelson, bassong, so if we dident have a good enough squad whose fault was it, i understand levy not splashing the cash in january, harry coudent make his mind up, and now he hasent go the england job, its wo is me casue the spurs board dont like me, i for one wuld be sad to see the three players leave, but ive seen bigger names than them leave, and weve still gone out a brought some great players, all i ask is levyu sort it out soon
