Am I missing something? Why does nobody at the club see that we are desperate for a decent striker? We bid for Negredo last jan now he's available for cheaper than we bid in jan but AVB is saying that the squad is strong enough to cope with adey leaving for African nations ( although he's bin shocking anyway). We have needed a decent centre forward since berby left. We have thrown away champs league for the past couple of seasons by not strengthening the squad in the jan window! Remember how many points we gave away after Xmas last season! Wycombe spur.

I think we are playing brinkmanship to keep potential transfer fee's as low as we can get away with. We ALL including AVB no we need a striker he can't succeed without one and as he has a point to prove i am sure a striker will be top priority to put in some of all the chances we are making. There may be no other signings as we are quite strong at the moment but i personally would love to see a cam come in of high quality. then i think we are ready for the champ league spot at least possibily third if chavski continue to faulter.

ps any news on negredo eds love this site {Ed002's Note - Sevilla's Negredo could be sold if a significant bid is made for the player. Chelsea had representation at an early December match against Espanyol in Barcelona although I understand Negredo only played for part of the game. They retruned to watch him again in the match with Real Sociedad before the holidays and have declared their interest in striking a deal for the player. There is also a chance that Arsenal may look to Negredo as an alternative to Adrian Lopez to avoid becoming involved with any "bidding war" with another club. I am not aware that the "well documented" talks with Spurs are any more than speculation at this time.}

Levy will not sign negredo or llorente or damaio.
We have consistently got up to 3rd/4th without replacing berbatov, so why would a businessman like levy spend £15million+ on a payer he thinks we haven't needed.
Another frustrating window is ahead and we will be glued to ssn on deadline day waiting for a signing that won't happen.
If willian signs, and is our only signing, then we are screwed. This is all my opinion only, I don't pretend to be an itk.
