I dont think Avb is the one to be our new manager. At Porto his defence set up was farcical at times and it was only because they play in Portugal that he got away with it. I aint ruling him out but i would prefer Martinez of Wigan.
Redknapp out. {Ed003's Note - omg)

Believable5 Unbelievable2

I wouldn't agree with Martinez but I agree AVB is overrated, anyone would win the Portugese league with Hulk and Falcao!

I think we should bring some good young talent through to our first XI

i.e
giving caulker, gio, naughton and kane a run out and giving them about 10 games each to keep them happy (even in the europa league) and are great players which we don't want to lose i.e pav kevin prince boateng, taarabt and kranjcar whos just left for dynamo kiev

Thsi may help us develop our squad into the next years coming

Believable1 Unbelievable1

You lost me at taraabt. I mean come on. He's truly awful

Agree1 Disagree0

You lost me with Pavlyuchenko. He's a good finisher, as he showed on Friday, but in every other respect he wasn't really Premiership quality. Boateng I don't know about, because I have never really seen him since he left, but Taraabt doesn't look like a serious footballer and Kranjcar was a decent quality squad player that couldn't get near our strongest line-up.

As I have pointed out before on this site: the nearer you get to the top, the harder it is to improve on what you have. With the exception of Caulker and Naughton, I haven't seen anything from the younger players coming through the ranks that suggests they are the future of Tottenham. Sad, but true.

Just a thought, if Man Utd really do want to sign Modric, we should ask for Hernandez and £20m. If they sign Lewandowski from Dortmund, he would be pushed down the pecking order with Rooney and Wellbeck also ahead of him. I think he would be great signing and would easily get 20+ goals a season from him.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Hes just another Defoe can't play on his own up top would rather nani or Valencia if it had to be a part ex

Agree1 Disagree2

I agree hernandez would b a good signing & yes his overall game isn't great but his movement is brilliant & he's a goalscorer, we have no one who attacks the six yard box & were crying out for someone who does.
If u look at the likes of falcao soldado & Huntelar there not the kind of strikers that do the ADE role & bring others into play they basically play the width of the box & there job is to get on the end of things. Hernandez would work better in a 2 playing off someone but he is not just another defoe hernandez greatest asset is getting himself free & into space in penalty box Defoe can b very static in there & in general the whole team are when it comes to breaking teams down that camp themselves on the edge of there box we need someone like hernandez in those situations.
I wouldn't touch nani can't stand him he's self-indulging & the thing that really grates me with him is he has so much talent but he wastes it, he's not consistant & I've often watched him take a hard tackle & that's it he doesn't want to no for rest of game he's more interest in how his hair looks. Valencia on the other hand is a real footballer gives everything for the team & does what good wingers do create enough space to get a yard on fullback gets ball out of his feet & whips it into a dagerous area, none of this ten stepovers sh*t or running 5 yards past defender b4 crossing like walcotts of this world, get it in early b4 defence can set itself that's what Valencia does best right wingers in England by mile.

To be honest I have defended Harry right through thick and thin, but I feel the time is now right for us us to part company and look for someone new.

Yes; we all sung our hearts out "please dont go" when we looked like world beaters at home to Newcastle a few months back, but that seems a long time ago now, and my opinion of the man has changed somewhat given that he has clearly indicated he would have taken the England job if offered it!

People are saying it would unsettle the players and a few star names would look to move on?
Well; that may be the case but not ANY of our players are bigger than the club, and the day they think they are is the day we should look to move them on anyway!

I for one would much rather watch players who really WANT to wear the shirt, than have a super skillful fancy-dan who turns it on when he feels like it.

Some of the football we played this year was breathtaking, and there is no reason why we cannot continue to build on the good work Harry has done, but I feel he has taken us as far as he can, and we now need a young, hungry manager who can take us even further.

My choices;
David Moyes- Just goes about his business quietly, and have never heard any of the Everton player say a bad word about him, plenty of PL experience and probably looking for new challenge after many years of LOYAL service to the blues of merseyside.

And the dark horse;
AVB- This guy will have a real point to prove in the PL, and with the right club and backing could be a very good appointment.
The man never stood a chance with Chelsea for reasons which have already been well documented, but we are different at Spurs, Mr Levy runs a tight ship (as it should be) and the players would have much more respect.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

If you don't think harry can take us further then that's up to you. personally, i'm not sure there is reason to believe moyes can do anything harry can't and avb is evidently a gamble despite having a point to prove.
additionally, it doesn't seem to be just one or two players that back harry, but most of our top players. for me that doesn't mean any one is bigger than the club but implies they work well together as a collective and are looking for stability in the team.
to be fair on harry, what english manager wouldn't take the england job? i know he talks s**te but i was quite happy with his apparent honesty regarding the conundrum it would have presented for him.

Just wanted to say, and I know this isn't really a rumour, but my parents are family friends of the Levy's (Mum actually used to date him!). Not enough so that I'm going to claim to know any ITK, but just to say that Daniel Levy's mum died last week, and the funeral was yesterday, my parents attended. So for all of you wondering how come there's a bit of a delay, this puts everything into a bit of perspective.

Right spurs fans, this is what i THINK will happen this summer

Redknapp: will stay

Ins
Vertonghen (10 million)
Damaio (17.8 million)
Ba ( 7 million)

Outs
Modders ( 30 million + add ons, could rise up to 35 million)
GDS (will hate to see him go for maybe only 7 million
Bentley (3-5 million)
Piennar (4 million)
Kranjcar (4 million a done deal alreadt)
and 3 players may go on loan i.e naughton kane townsend

Who is replacing modric then?

Agree0 Disagree1

I think Hudds could play the modric role.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hudds play the Modric role?!?!?!?!
Funniest thing ive heard in ages!!
Mwa!
Super Y*d

Agree1 Disagree1

Explain yourself Super Y*d, why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because huddlestone has the turning circle of a battleship and hasn't played for a year

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because he hasn't played for a year. What a stupid comment. So everyone that gets injured needs to go on the scrap heap.
I think hudd could play the deep lying midfield role. Who do we want, someone who loves the shirt/club, or do we want someone who goes missing when they not feeling up for it.
I think it's a grea shout, hudd would do me

Agree0 Disagree0

The turning circle of a battleship??
And you had the cheek to ridicule the comment before!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Super Y*d you make me laugh, after 1 season out through injury you write off a player who was instrumental in the only season we qualified for the CL . You constantly derided other peoples opinions but when asked to give a reasoned explanation you show yourself up!

Agree0 Disagree0

That wasn't super y*d that was me. Perhaps the way I articulated it wasn't brilliant but it's a metaphor for God's sake. Hudds is a wonderful passer, but he is no where near as mobile or dynamic as modric. We don't know what he'll be like having not been fit for a year. Hudds is a very different player for modric, if he was to take his place in the lineup then we would probably have to change our formation to 4-2-3-1 with Hudds and Sandro, a passer and a destroyer anchoring, and VDV Bale and Lennon interchanging behind the striker. All I meant was modric is almost unique in the way he plays, Hudds is more suited to a slower game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ba leaves a europa league club for a europa league club Doh!
Besides he has been crap since ANC?

Agree2 Disagree0

Ba is a gamble injury wise and toon fans will tell you he has been poor since xmas we can do much better..Luke De jong?
