Reports we have had a bid accepted for stambouli

hmmm16

1.) 30 Aug 2014 10:21:28
If it comes off it will proberly put a end to sneiderlin deal, does make you laugh at all the in the know's people that sai definitely be done by the end of the window

2.) Yeah but I suppose this deal is much less of a risk but to be honest with Capoue, Paulinho, Bentalib, Sandro, Dembele I'm not too sure why we need another deep lying midfielder at all?

In my opinion we just need a decent striker and I'm not convinced Welbeck is the solution I would much prefer to see Remy brought in

3.) I would envisage that sandra leaves.

4.) Isn't Remy signing for the Chavs?

5.) Yeah I think he has, no idea why we didn't pick him up ages ago

Fazio deal just confirmed for an undisclosed fee.

hmmm16

1.) Yes his interview is on the spurs website now

2.) Lol not sure how someone can disagree with my post it's on the scrolling newsfeed when you log in at www.tottenhamhotspur.com

{Ed008's Note - Probably those Gooner trolls lurking about..

3.) 28 Aug 2014 19:22:57
NorthernSpur you are right they are wrong simple!

4.) Yeah I seem to have 5 disgrees on my post that he signed. I mean, he has, what do you disagree with?

5.) 29 Aug 2014 07:24:16
Sadly there are a few serial offenders who press disagree every time regardless of content. When you have nothing positive to say or add, people tend to throw stones from greenhouses. These people are worse than that as they throw the stones from behind the crowd as they vote anonymously.

Sad but true!

6.) Or it could be a little banter humor . But then one would need to realize that this is all supposed to be fun and not about establishing ones internet star status.

7.) The reason some may have disagreed is that Sevilla are threatening legal action as they have yet to receive the money from the Spanish FA and we are parading him as our player. Not as simple as a done deal yet!

24 Aug 2014 09:33:48
Lots of the papers are reporting that we are preparing a 15mil bid for Welbeck. I'm not sure if I have ever heard of a worse deal.

hmmm16

1.) I can. . 26 million for Soldado

2.) Sean, I would have thought Bentley would have been a better choice. Soldado will come good give him a chance. judge him this season providing he's still at Spurs.

3.) Bentley scored that crackinggoal in the 4-4 draw with Arsenal in in the 2008-2009 season. I reckon that was probably worth about 15mil

4.) 24 Aug 2014 16:53:06
Welbeck would be a good signing for us; he has lots of experience, can play central or from wide. Would be a different option to what we have as has more pace than our current strikers.

Happy with this if it happens

5.) A striker for 15mil whose record is worse than 1 in 4 and who is not wanted at a club that have to be considered to have a worse squad that spurs. Doesn't seem great to me especially when we need more goals in the team

6.) 25 Aug 2014 12:49:03
If you are looking for a pacey forward who doesn't score goals, we already have Aaron Lennon

22 Aug 2014 17:55:15
Some papers reporting that AC milan are interested in Soldado as a replacement for Balotelli. This would be a bit of a miracle for us as that would get him off the wage bill but I would still be really surprised if we managed to shift him

hmmm16

1.) I rather keep Soldado and shift Ade.

I think if the quality of Lamela and Eriksen is harnessed and Townsend is trainable then Soldado will start converting consistently, the guy has class and skill to burn.

2.) Give the guy a break man! 1st season in a foreign league is always going to be hard, combine that with playing under 3 different managers in 9 months and all with completely different styles of play. Give Soldado a chance to work with Poch and understand how he wants to play and if come May he has still struggled then maybe think about cashing in, in the meantime how about a bit of support and hopefully he gets his confidence back. His goal last night was superb.

3.) 22 Aug 2014 22:13:17
don't forget his personal despair following his wifes miscarriage as well.it must have been a very difficult time for him and his family,in a new country.

4.) His link up play with lamela is awesome, if they both stay fit they will be. An awesome partnership! Great to see them enjoying being at the club and the banter between team mates.

5.) 24 Aug 2014 00:55:07
I hope you guys are right but when you spend 30m on a 29 year old, you haven't got the luxury of time.

6.) 24 Aug 2014 03:52:21
Too true Mr oracle still we all hope he can replicate his previous form, I can't stop thinking torres when I watch him.

7.) 24 Aug 2014 09:28:22
is it any wonder soldado failed to score many goals last year when he was being supplied by a pair of chaps like lennon and townsend.

8.) Never thought I would agree with the oracle! Seems like the general consensus is pro-Soldado. I hope you guys are right but I would happily swap him for Remy right now

9.) 24 Aug 2014 15:34:38
30 million?
try halving that figure and you're nearer the actual figure sodado cost .the rest is ad ons .
I would have thought the all knowing barnacle would have known that

Some of the papers seem to be reporting that palace and QPR are interested in Holtby

hmmm16

1.) I hope the rumours are false, I rate Holtby and think he could be an important part of our squad this season with his versatility and his hard graft on the pitch!

2.) I like that people disagree that the papers were reporting this, I promise they were :)

3.) 19 Aug 2014 21:54:43
Holtby is so over-rated and not sure why apart from his like ability and attitude. As far as football goes it seems there's no obvious position he makes his own, his passing is patchy, his tackling is usually amiss or just a miss!
Great guy, could come good but we have so many 'could come good' players that I think have shown more in less game time than Holtby.
As I said, I like him but just don't think he's indispensable.

4.) 22 Aug 2014 00:53:01
Although not alone, Holtby again fails to put down much of a marker tonight against lowly opposition. Not a witch-hunt, just quantifying previous post with this as a typical example.

After so much talk of the schniderlin deal, which now seems to be off, I was wondering who he would have been replacing as we have about 50 cm/cdm? He seems to surplus to requirements I'm not really bothered that he is not coming.

hmmm16

1.) Much better than anyone we have!

30 Aug 2014 17:43:59
I think our transfer window has been a nice solid one so far. Hopefully we can move a few players out as well, but if we don't sign a striker then I think it will all be for nothing.

hmmm16

1.) Who would you bring the striker in for then?
It's quite obvious the way MP sets up. One up and 2 in reserve on the bench if he needs to change to 2 up.
Bobby, Kane and ade have already proved that they can find the net, all be it after a few chances.
MP doesn't play with a fox in the box striker type, so, in my opinion, all won't be lost if no striker comes in. There are plenty of goals spread all over our team at the mo.

2.) Bony is who we need

24 Aug 2014 14:44:52
Lamela answering a lot of questions today

hmmm16

1.) Chadli as well, amazing what a little belief from your manager and a bit of confidence can do to a player.Long may it continue!

2.) Yeah, if we could also get some sort of CDM pairing working then we would be flying, still remain a little unconvinced by Bentalib/Capoue and Pauliniho/Dembele have never quite got going.

3.) In my opinion I think when fit Sandro/Capoue would be the best CDM partnership, both strong lads and get stuck in and they both get about the pitch. I think Capoue just needs a chance to show how could he really is, I like Bentaleb and Dembele but just think Sandro and Capoue are better all round players

4.) Is Sandro carrying a knock? Hasn't made a bench appearance yet and lots of rumored talk of an offer coming in from Italy.

5.) The best centre mid partnership we've had in resent years was Sandra and dembele. I think Sandra is being sold though :(.

6.) Nothing like it stuie16, Sandro/Modric has been the best if recent times. Modric is the CM we have had for many a year

18 Aug 2014 10:27:25
Does anyone know anything about Loic Remy deal being possible? Apparently he doesn't want to return to Newcastle and has a buy out clause of only £8mil I think he could be pretty good for us and possibly saves some money as opposed to taking a gamble on an expensive player like Destro? He is also used to the prem so wouldn't need too much time to settle down?

hmmm16

1.) 18 Aug 2014 14:47:06
I thought Remy failed a medical for the Liverpool transfer, if that is true, why would we proceed?

2.) The £8m buy out is only for Champions League teams I believe.

3.) Yeah iI saw somewhere else that it is 10mil seems to be being reported in various places now. I've no idea what happened with the medical but I imagine that he will be given one at spurs to see what is what

4.) 18 Aug 2014 15:59:38
Harry Redknapp seems to doubt whether he did actually fail a medical.

5.) Harry talks a lot of waffle too though.

6.) I can't see why he would want to make a player that he wants to keep seem more attractive to other clubs. If we really injured then saying he is not to try to cover it up wouldn't work either as he will still have a medical at spurs. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing Loic at the Lane. He was linked a few years ago but eventually he might make it!

15 Aug 2014 16:29:05
Destro rumours seem to be back but apparently the price tag is £20mil as much as I want to see a new striker at the lane this seems like quite a lot for a reasonably unproven striker.

hmmm16

1.) Has bundles of energy and potential but comes with serious risks re injuries and the fact he is a bit of a nutter!

I doubt this would happen and I would be pretty upset if it did. I really don't think 1 season where we have a bunch of different managers and half a new first team is the best judge of a player.

Previous to last season Pauliniho was a quality player, I say that he should get more of a chance.

I think, in terms of getting another striker, we have to be realistic in regards to money. Remy looks like he might be around 12mil and for a proven premier league goalscorer (at just better than 1 in 2) that seems like good value for money. He isn't too old (at 27) so he will still be around for a while and would offer something different than we already have.

I do think he is a bit underrated as you mention people like Negrado (who would cost upwards of 30mil I imagine) who is nowhere near a 1 in 2 man.

I also think that people under value ade. I know he is always accused of being inconsistent and he has been at many clubs but for us there was only a brief period, when he as ostracized by AVB, that he hasn't scored regularly for us. Even including this bad period he is still just below a 1 in 2 man. On top of that he offers more than just goals with good link up play and strength to hold the ball up.

I personally think I we got someone like remy for around 10-15mil we would be looking pretty good up front. And don't forget there is always the potential for Soldado/Kane to have a great season!

Correct me if I'm wrong ed but isn't this sort of thing just usual practice with the club just making a big deal out of it?

hmmm16

100% disagree, I think Welbeck is useless but I would quite like to see song at the lane. Ade and Gallas have done well for us!

It's always a bad sign when you win your first two games as a manager. I know there are a lot of people who say you have to give someone time but in my opinion if you aren't losing three out of the first five then in reality you don't stand a chance.

A little bit over the top no? We have had some pretty good transfer windows recently and I don't think we need to strengthen in that many areas really.

Moreover Naughton was only playing as Walker was injured and Davis will become a starter once he has settled in I'm sure
