We should not of sold sigurdson should get him back,

Can't see us buying any players that would make a statement turn heads or make Gary Neville go wow! everyone is strengthening while not guaranteed it lifts the fans the club and players .

We will still be hoping and preying on the final day of transfer deadline day, and again we will sigh .

Levy will end up trying the patience of mopo and he will be off and the cycle will start again.

If anyone has earned the right to be backed its mopo the next level requires it will left deliver .

At this moment I suspect not .

Good post bobby, I hate Daniel levy and this man has been holding Tottenham back for many years. He never backs the manager, won't pay the extra few million for top players, sells any top player to our champions league rivals and all he's done is build a new ground which will be for his own benefit and not spurs. I can't think of one superstar who has come to spurs since he's been here,

Holding spurs back for years? How can you be so short sighted Raver? We're moving in the right direction, we finished 2nd last year! The only thing that stopped us winning the league was the pure quality of Chelsea! Don't wanna hear "we should've signed a top player" either because that wouldn't have guaranteed anything. For me Sissoko looked amazing for france and seemed a good signing. He didn't live upto expectations and didn't play which was Mopo's choice. Fact is Levy backed Mopo with the signing and he failed to break into the team.

Levy (if it is to be believed every decision lays with him, which I very much doubt) has given us a top training centre, is building us a new stadium, has improved the overall quality of the Tottenham area and has done it by showing the big spenders in the league that it's not about money it's about quality and desire.

Ok let's buy 10 new players this season at 30million a piece because all the players we've spent 30mill on have ALWAYS pushed us onto the next level haven't they? Oh no. Wait they have all flopped!

Spurs 85 it's just my opinion on levy you like him I don't, I don't want 10 players to join this summer at 30 million a pop. All I want is 3 quality signings that we should be getting quite easily if levy wasn't squabbling over the odd million. You can't disagree that levy loves to sell our best players, I have non spurs mates who Said if you kept hold of bale and modric you would be walking the league with this current squad. There was no need to sell bale as he just signed a brand new 5 year contract before levy sold him to the club we supposed to have a close bond with lol. There are rumours in Spain that Barcelona want Ali, come next season I can guarantee you he will be playing in la liga as levy loves to cash in. I still rue the day spurs turned down roman abramovic as today the ground would have been built 5 years ago, we would have been league champions and possibly European cup winners, all levy has done is won nothing and 3 top 4 finish's due to his tightness.

Ok Raver, who are the 3 quality signings we could realisticly get that would take us to the next level?

That's a difficult one to answer 1985, I read and do agree with most of what you've said. However not knowing if we would spend over 30 million on a player leaves us very limited.

I think ravers point is we are so close to being a real threat season in season out possibly even winning the title but are 3 class players short. Which in fairness is correct. But we cannot pay the wages or can we. Who really knows that's the big question and brings frustration to fans.
I've named 3 players in a previous post. But hand on heart they're unrealistic, we don't know what the club is prepared to spend. We've just sold Walker for a great deal of money will we put that money back on one player. I think not.

i can't believe walker joined city, spurs have a better chance of winning the title than city.

were you not watching last season dr? spurs were the best team to watch in the league, did you not notice you finished second?

Guardiola spends a lot of money on defenders considering his tactics have defending as an afterthought. I think City will be borderline 4th again, maybe worse.

Spurs 85, my 3 are lemar, isco, and aubameyang and all 3 are gettable if the club shows ambition.

But DR my point is we would've won the league last year had chelsea not been nothing short of amazing. No home losses, best points total in our history of the epl and based on 96% of the epl seasons would've been enough points to end up top. All without "world class players".

Yes Ravers point of "spending that extra money to get the top players" on paper sounds reasonable but in reality it hasn't proven to work for us. Be it because we signed the wrong players or not our "big money signings" have all been flops. Examples: Soldado, Lamela and Sissoko. So based on fact, spending big doesn't equal success, in our clubs case atleast! Of course I understand the premise but the evidence doesn't back the theory, tell me if I'm wrong?

The wages has nothing to do with Levy's penny pinching. Our stadium size dictates, like other teams our wage budget. Which thanks to levy and co will soon change. If we go and bring in a player and break our wage structure for that player then we either a) raise the wage of our whole team or b) cause unrest with the players who clearly deserve better wages but are happy to play for the badge. Neither is a good end result for our club.

My comments about levy are not based on some love for him just some realistic view on where our team was and where it is now since "he" took over. Yes we have struggled in various ways in his tenor but when you consider how far we have come, wouldn't you agree (based on net spend alone) we are the most impressive team in the league right now?

Levy cannot be the reason for everything bad within the club and never the reason for all the good, if you get my point?

Raver, I'm not certain you're understanding what realistic really means as I think 2 of 3 are hopeful more than realistic with our current wage structure!

James- Personally I think city will get it together this year. The game is all about opinions . Last year was last year. City are changing the right area's. They we're class up front Pep is new to a competitive league. I'm sure he'll get it right.

85 - I agree spending big doesn't guarantee success, but top players bring success and have a winning mentality. We have won nothing. Albeit we've played some great football, breathtaking at times but 3 years down the line who will remember that.
I'm no knocking Levy or the club, because they've done fantastic and I'm a proud spurs fan.

This season will be totally different playing away from WHL. Well be lucky to get top 4 that's just my honest opinion.

apart from walker going dr you still have the same great side, and city's new recruits will take time to gel as a side, and as we've seen before city's big buys don't always work out, keep the faith dr you have a great team and a great manager, enjoy your season mate its exciting times at spurs.

Agree with you Dr, we do need winners to get us tropheys. We have a great side and the right player could lead the team we already have onto the next level.
