Couldn't get to the game today , how did it go in the midfield? I noticed he started with Dier again as defensive midfielder , did it work and is it going to save us some money?
Also , did Alli get a game?
Any good news to help me get over another dropped two points?

No pace, no creativity. The Stoke fans were horrendous. Havnt seen trouble at a game for a long time!

Once again I will point to NO LEADER ON THE PARK for Spurs! I had 20 squid on 2-0 and all I could think about is if Spurs were going to go on and score a third or fourth, I did not even contemplate Stoke getting a goal as we were that comfortable without being anything but functional and I suspect that's how the players felt thus we desperately need a leader to stop these all to common type of results (loss or draw from a position of strength). The substitutions changed the game full stop, beteleb looked like he was sulking and did nothing but the norm (passed backwards or sideways). Lamela came on and fouled plus tripped over the ball when in attacking 3rd, yep the norm! I don't think it's fair to criticize Dier because he had a decent game, yes I agree we need a defensive midfielder thus replacing him in that position but he wasn't the reason we lost! Dembele was best player on the park and Stoke couldn't get near him! The wide area's are the problem but hopefully Njie will inject some much needed pace moving forward. why deli ally never got on the park I don't know but is in keeping with substitution decisions but let's be clear Spurs once again deserved more from game as Stoke offered nothing more than some huff and puff! I will say that finally the crowed in certain places of stadium tried there best to create an atmosphere but it wasn't great plus I couldn't help but notice there seemed to be plenty of empty seats which is a worry considering it was first home game of the season and on a Saturday!

Stid I stopped betting on spurs games years ago as they are the team that will blow your accas. Also we have no player that gets you off you feet eg bale, ginola gazza even when we had poor teams we always had a player who could change a game. As for empty seats at the lane I don't blame the fans as they are being mugged off we are one of the dearest. Clubs to watch in the country and the players and the board offer us fans nothing

davo and others have posted here that we have a season ticket waiting list of 30,000. They seemed to suggest that the Spurs support was such that we will always fill our stadium( old and new) regardless of whether or not Levy finances a strong team playing good football and challenging strongly for top four. How does this tie up with the empty seats last Saturday at our first home game? Might be no harm to send Mr. levy a message that Us Fans will not accept and be grateful for a second rate team not capable of challenging for top four. Spurs are about football and an attractive winning team is more important then profit for shareholders.

Pauli , my mate has been on the list for ages , and has been told there is 11000 in front of him . He tried to get a ticket for Saturday's game and was told all sold out!
I don't agree we have a second rate team , we just need two or three of the right ones to strengthen us but Levy has a habit of pissing off the other chairman! He has to notice that there are times to bargain , and times to buy!
What Baldini is still doing there drawing a wage is beyond me , the man is a joke!

I don't want to get involved with any one individual as some of what you say I agree with but.

You could easily get a ticket for the Stoke game right up until the cut off point on STUB HUB, we had 3 join our merry band late on in the week. Yes technically it was sold out (ie spurs pocketed revenue for a sell out) but fans were selling there seats by the bucket loads right up until kick off, many obviously didn't manage to thus many empty seats. Just picture this scenario in the new stadium. hold that thought! The season ticket waiting list is nonsense in terms of numbers as many have no intention of taking one if offered, not to mention if they did attending every week. I have friends who come with me to almost every game home and away, they are right at the top of the season ticket waiting list but wouldn't take one when offered, why? They can get a ticket for any game either on stub hub or via a season ticket holder if they can't make it and its cheaper that way plus they don't have pressure of trying to shift ticket if they can't make game. 2 of my merry band picked up a stoke ticket for £30 on Saturday, in the new stadium with more tickets available what do you think will happen to resale prices or empty seats? If you take the example of a fan that's way behind on the waiting list which is due to a lack of loyalty points, I would suggest 8 out of 10 times this fan for whatever reason can't make every Spurs home game (this is not a criticism, we all have different lives and I'm sure they want to but factors prevent them ie family, work). Even if they decide to take season ticket in New stadium will they attend every week? How long will they keep it when they are faced with the reality of the cost compared to picking up tickets on stub hub?

The point to my initial comments 're empty seats on Sat was it should be a concern that we have empty seats especially with the new stadium coming, my concern is not commercial as it will of course generate more revenue ie fans will buy more season tickets! My concern is empty seats and atmosphere, plus playing staff due to the inevitable reduced investment line for "paying off stadium" (I know I know lack of investment I hear you scream, seriously).

For me its not as simple as Spurs are massive, we will fill stadium

Super post S.T.i.D. Well structured, well rationalised and hard to argue with. I was not saying that we have a second rate team. The point I was making was, it is a huge assumption that we will always fill the new stadium even if Daniel does not invest in players and we become, at best, a sixth lace team.
