if spurs fans think they can squeeze villa to 17-20m for benteke they will not be surprised to see bale leave for 35-40m next season.

It really isn't the same though is it? Benteke 1 good season in the Epl and what did he win? Bale been looking very good for 2 seasons and a world class performance last season along with numerous awards. Players, player of the year, writers player of the year, young player of the year and nominated for European player of the year and I'm sure there was 2 more that he won can't remember what they were. So your comparison is deluded.

I understand your frustration villa fans as you honestly believe you'll get that money for him but I'm willing to bet you won't. Look at it from a neutral point of view, your the only fans who believe you'll be getting 35mill. You'll do well if you get 20mill and that's with all respect, not belittling your club. Be happy though nearly 300% profit In 1 year can't grumble!

On top of that if we sell Bale next year we'll proberly only get 60mill but Bale is helping us go global so it's worth it for us to hold onto him and make a loss. Benteke won't push up your profile so not worth keeping him if he wants to leave.

I live in spud town and it is interestihg to listen to supporters talk and the majority seem to say if you can buy him fir £25m you will get a bargain. He will improve over the next 2/3 seasons and be worth every penny of £40/50m.

Yes your correct he "could" become a bargin, but I think if you read other comments on this site by other fans you'll see the opinion is divided. So not all fans in London will have the same view as the minority you have spoken to.

I wasn't being disrespectful towards your club and actually respect your team. Also the fans on your site are genuinely decent people to discuss football with and you let your own fans down.

Europa League (again) competing as much to be top 4 in London as top 4 PL. Bale could move down the road to play Champions League football in front of 60k fans. Another season in the top six, like Villa experienced a fair few of and you think you will be a high profile club?

Bale will want out whatever happens next season, and if he pushes for a transfer then you will be in the same boat as Villa. Demanding a fee you believe he is worth to your own club, whilst Real Madrid, Man Utd, Chelsea Arsenal and other clubs who win things decide that he wants off so they can call their own fee.

This time next year prepare yourself for Arsenal to offer you 20m + Gervinho and be told that you must accept it and its a tidy profit for Bale.

Good luck with your bid to consolidate and land some more Europa League football though.

Wow, all of a sudden the Villa supporters have got an attitude problem, one decent player on their books and wow, they rule the PL. Like every player, Bentenke has two prices, what you want and what someone is prepared to spend. Now if Higuain is £25 million, then get a grip. Yes, he has had a brilliant season, and I think he will get better and suit a club like yours that will finish in the bottom ten of the PL each year. For the money, there are better strikers out there, I doubt we will get one but we are used to that!

Says the team in a relegation struggle season, let's be honest Benteke was the only reason you stayed up last season and Stoke would be an step up for Benteke, and we've had more than seasons in the top 6 and unlike you we actually tasted CL football :L we got champions league 2009/2010, europa league 2010/11, Finished in a champions league place 2011/12 and close to it again this season.

I got fed up talking with this Villa fan as he obviously can't see past his own nose. Fellow fans, well said guys, this Villa fan is a tool but believe me the other Villa fans are decent so don't let this 1 tarnish the rest.

One other thing though Villa fan, how can you laugh at a team for actually making Europe (albeit the Europa league) when your team isn't even good enough to make said competition?
Being top 4 in London is actually a big ask as 3 of the teams in London are in the top 5 of the Epl surely even a simpleton like you understands that?

Now remember your place Spuds. a four year purple patch. not so long ago Villa were 6th for 3 seasons. Spuds are already on the wain and if we looked at a slightly longer time scale it is you who are the relegation battlers. I think though you must need to puff your chests out as being honest about living in the shadow of Arsenal and Chelsea must make you yampy.
